Another of those 60 bands which saw a whole host of people who would go on to find great fame and fortune pass through. Yet Beryl Marsden, whereas the best of the Liverpool female singers, had relatively little success,
A while ago some of us were discussing bands we had seen. We recall, as pissed up 16 year olds, seeing Rod Stewart with Long John Baldry in Steampacket. Contrary to his reputation of being stingy he bought us all a vodka. Funny thing is I can't recall Julie Driscoll from that gig but Marsha Hunt was in the bar and I got a kiss off her. Anyway, the point is, someone seemed to recall us being at a Shotgun Express gig, again full of drink. I said I hoped not as I couldn't recall it and it would have meant being at s gig where Peter Green, my favourite guitarist, played and couldn't remember it.
It would have been a very small window when Peter Green played with Shotgun express, he left to join The Blues Breakers in late '66, so you may have only been pissed for about 6 or 7 months I once had the pleasure of "summoning" Julie Driscoll out of the ladies as she was supposed to be on stage with LJB at a gig in Leeds. He bought a couple of us a pint in the student bar after the show.
