    Under Contract.
Niall Canavan, Michael Cooper, Calum Dyson, Conor Grant, Freddie Ladapo, Tafari Moore, Joe Riley, Antoni Sarcevic, Ashley Smith-Brown, Ryan Taylor, Scott Wootton.

Out of contract, offered new contracts.
Graham Carey, Ryan Edwards, Alex Fletcher, David Fox, Joel Grant, Luke Jephcott, Ruben Lameiras, Ryan Law, Kyle Letheren, Cameron Sangster, Gary Sawyer, Yann Songo'o.

    Out of contract released.
Lionel Ainsworth, Alex Battle, Harry Hodges, Jamie Ness, Dan Rooney.

    Short term contract expired.
    Paul Anderson.

    Out of contract retired.
    Jordan Bentley.

    Loan expired.
Lloyd Jones, Matt Macey, Oscar Threlkeld.

    Apprentices offered professional contract.
Klaidi Lolos, Michael Peck, Tom, Purrington, Adam Randell.

    Apprentices released.
Andrew Burn, Rio Garside, Aaron Goulty.

I'm surprised that this has happened without a Manager in place.

Question about some offered new contracts...especially because there is some dead wood among those that are under contract still

Need to study this lot and say more later....a new manager might not agree with some of these choices...could be starting on the wrong foot....not sure that we are doing this right.

It seems you have to offer a player a new contract by the third week of May...or they can walk away....I don't know how true that is.....still time to bring a new manager in before that date....unless PAFC are not planning to have someone in by that date of course.

Being in Div 2 some players might not want to accept a lower offer....so even some on contracts still might want to leave (Dyson hopefully) and others might not accept a lower offer than last season....so a chance of a lot of movement is still possible.

Who won't take up a new offer......Carey, Lameiras and possibly Fox at the least.

I think Fox wants to go back nearer his family....I think he nearly did last year.

Lameiras is supposed to be interesting Bordeaux...I don't know how true that is...a bit of a step-up from Div 1.

Carey...I'm not sure about...didn't tear any trees up this season and even last year with a good season behind him no one came calling......maybe Adams will entice him to his new club like he did last time from Ross County.

Of course no one likes a pay cut by being relegated....was going down a division in anybodies thoughts when they under performed since March, didn't look like it.

Jamie Ness announced the day before the retained list came out that he was leaving......so did he make that decision himself or having been told that he wasn't going to be offered another contract spoke before it was official knowledge.

So was he on the list because he wanted to leave...or because he wasn't being retained.....egg and chicken situation....which way round was it.

PAFC have offered new contracts to some players who I feel were on a par with Ness, who as we all know is injury prone and I feel wasn't worth keeping anyway.
Gary Sawyer I feel should have been on that list (to slow now), Ryan Edwards is also to slow, David Fox not getting any younger should have been on the list..

Surprising that only 5 players were released (only Ness was a regular first teamer, when fit)....6 if you include Anderson....we still have Canavan and Wootton on contract, both part of our disastrous defence.

If those offered contracts all stayed (probably won't happen) then a new manager hasn't got much leeway to bring in new players.

Ness said something like "Unfortunately I won't have the opportunity to help the club get back to where it belongs". Sounds like it wasn't his choice. The Retained List says he was released at the end of his contract.

I can think of two or three others who come into the same category as Ness.....so why only him ?

He is the only regular (when fit) 'first teamer' on the release list

Because we are planning for League 2 not league one plym. The standard as we have found out is much better in this league than the one we are going to be in.

Reuben Lameiras first comment when asked by the Evning Erald whether he'd stay with Argyle was to say that a manager hadn't been appointed yet.

I guess that means who is appointed is a factor in his decision....

He was keeping all options on the table...(including a no deal....oh sorry wrong subject).....he does like it at Argyle and the area.....the right manager might tempt him ....who knows.

When given his chance my feeling is he took it and did a decent enough job. Far better than Macey who was a disaster from almost start to finish. If he goes then pity is my opinion.

His Twitter feed. But I see now I misinterpreted it. He thanks the fans, your support has been incredible etc etc. I read it as a goodbye whereas in fact it is just an end-of-season thank you. Sorry about that!

So your just a stirring trouble maker notDistant.....trying to get rid of a player whose done reasonable well.....I can think of a few players who are here because they have a second year on their contracts.....try selling them off.....do us all a favour and get rid of them please...... instead of getting poor old sensible all wound up about Macey again.
