Don't rate this Saunders chap. Throws a lot of punches so will be OK if the fight goes the distance. But, he wasn't hit many times and could have gone if the opponent had been harp enough to follow up. Someone will knock him cold
There's talk of the Luke Campbell/Lomachencko fight been held at the O2 in London on 31st August. Hopefully this gets confirmed and I can go see another great of the sport
An interesting sidelight to Naoya Inoue's IBF Bantamweight Title win, is that he now joins his little brother Takuma Inoue as a reigning Bantamweight Champion. Takuma holds the Interim WBC Belt.
Tonight in New York, Anthony Joshua puts his IBF, IBO, WBA & WBO Heavyweight Titles on the line against the Californian Andy Ruiz Jr. Joshua stands to earn somewhere around the $20,000,000 while Ruiz will probably receive something like $7,000,000. His biggest purse before this fight was the $1,000,000 for his defeat at the hands of Joe Parker. It's hard to imagine how Ruiz can counter the 8 inch reach advantage Joshua has over him. Good luck to Ruiz though, he was lucky enough to get the nod after the drug cheat Big Baby Miller pissed dirty. The clip below shows just how much of a miss match this fight looks to be, but it was nice to see the genuine warmth between the fighters at the weigh in. 1-16.Joshua. 14-1. Ruiz. The razzamatazz on stage before the fighters entered was cringe worthy.
And the other heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, has today, just a week after announcing a rematch against Ortiz, announced that he has signed for the rematch with Tyson Fury if he beats Ortiz. A unification fight is looking further and further away
WTF. Sorry about the ads, but the quality is better than the Youtube version. Round 3 has to be the round of the year. http://boxingvideo.org/anthony-joshua-vs-andy-ruiz-full-fight-replay/
Bubble well and truly burst. Class response from Tyson Fury I have to say. Same can't be said for Deontay Wilder
It was only a matter of time before it happened, as I have always said. Too pedestrian to handle someone who can take a punch and can punch. Dylan White went close to knocking him out. Klitschko should have knocked him out. As I have said from outset, to me, he is so reminiscent of Frank Bruno,
Yes. One decent punch and he wobbles. Needs a finisher to close him down. Klitschko stood back and let him back in. Wouldn't surprise me if Ortiz kos him
