We'll be the biggest laughing stock in English football if we lose to Tin Pot Tottenham. Seriously there is a gulf in class and it's not just the team's, it's the managers. We've a world class manager and they have David Moyes with a Spanish accent.
**** can happen. I have utter confidence really... I really think we've what s needed this time round. but spurs are better than that. we have to respect their ability to run and work. thry can defend and they have goals too. my biggest thing is looking back at us pressing the absolute life out of that team and them. it being able to pass it out of defence at all, that was first game this season. I just have this feeling we will dominate them.
Everything you've said makes sense. This time we're Sevilla and Real Madrid and Spurs are Liverpool. We're the ones with the experience of handling the occasion. I also believe there are players that want to right the wrongs of last year. It's redemption for some. Can we press and dominate them? Of course. We're Europe's best pressing outfit. However we do need to score first and early as possible. We have the ability to have the game sewn up in an hour.
I'm sincerely hopeful of a spurs implosion and red card once we are 2 up. but..... this is Liverpool isn't it... the last final I remember as "routine" was us beating Bolton in the league cup with mcmanaman. it always seems to be drama. 2001 drama 3 times. 2005. 2006.. 2007 bit flat.. 2012. then the Europa last time, the league cup final v city on pens, the cl final. I'd really settle.for routine and boring.
I wonder what odds you get on Fabinho being man of the match. I think he will really make a serious difference. It would also be the icing on the cake if the Ox came on and scored. Spurs hate him because he's an ex Gooner. He would himself enjoy scoring against Spurs for the same reason.
Absolutely fantastic sub to bring on too. 20 minutes to go when Spurs are dead on their feet having been chasing shadows. The Ox comes on with the instruction to run at them.
His directness and goal threat are good weapons to have coming on later in the game for sure. I wasn't convinced on signing him but he proved me wrong up until his injury in the semi final last year. I'm sure if he gets on at some point he'll be like a firework in a bucket
Liverpool's Champions League run: Champions of France Champions of Serbia Champions of Germany Champions of Portugal Champions of Spain Napoli - 2nd in Italy Tottenham - 4th in England
Could be. Sissoko v fabinho will be key. I fancy however we need to force eriksen deep into his own half and stop spurs playing out.
