You don't have to pick your fixtures in advance. In effect it is a card with 6 credits on it to spend as you wish so you could spend all 6 on one match if you wanted to treat family and friends. Alternatively, just pick and chose your matches to fit in with visits to the west country.

Thanks Lyndy.....so it is possible to turn up on the day (as long as it isn't a full house) and get in....although I expect most will wait for the fixture list to come out and plan more long term which six matches they fancy... if they are only using them for themselves of course.....or as you say all on one match.

Never mind part time supporters where's the bleddy new manager? Sorry couldn't resist a sound off. They don't half drag these things out in Plymouth don't they. From what seemed a nailed on appointment we now appear to have a hesitation which is going to do wonders for the confidence of the great unwashed when one is actually made.

All the Flexi "membership" does is to give you a week or so to book seats for the specified number of League games before tickets go on general sale. As Lyndhurst says, you don't choose which games to attend at the start of the season but individually as the games come up.

I book 4 seats at a time and last season, with the grandstand out of operation, it's been difficult enough to get 4 decent seats together.

By match day, all that tends to be left are single seats between groups and perhaps a few more left over in the Barn Park End. Most of the latter were pre-sold for the Scunthorpe game I think.

You also get priority booking for one-off games in the FA Cup etc but of course you have to pay separately for those.

The change this year which infuriated me was that in previous years, Flexi members could book early all season even after they'd used all their pre-paid tickets. I'm always in that situation as even with a Flexi 8, I'm always buying extra tickets at the end of the year because we usually go to a dozen games or so. This year, early booking rights expired when you use your last Flexi ticket. So much for it being a "membership" and for paying the club up-front for most of your tickets!

And to you Sensible, I really don't get this "why's it taking so long" business. Again it must be coming from those who haven't a clue how recruitment works.

OK, I DON'T have knowledge of recruitment in football, but as the club are trying to follow a professional method, there must be similarities to the real world.

First, you have to get applicants. That's going to take a few days.

Then you have to arrange interviews. As employer, you'll try to insist when these happen based on your timetable and when your people are available. Inevitably though, the candidates will have their own diaries to consider and unless you want to ignore good possibilities, you have to be flexible.

This is a busy time in football. I don't know how or if agents play a part in this but they are going to be difficult to manage and I suspect they're just the sort of people who pretend to be very busy even when they aren't.

Once interviews are done you have to sift the results. There may be a shortlist and second interviews, so around the loop you go again.

In the real world, youd have to take up references, check qualifications claimed are real and establish a right to work in the UK.

Then you make an offer and the candidate asks for 24 hours to think about it. 3 days later, you get a call from his agent.

    And so it goes.

Better to get it right than to do it quickly.

notDistant is right....it all takes time.....Simon Hallett did comment on the process.....your dealing with agents (who want their cut)...your dealing at times with candidates some who are still employed....and then there is the legal aspects to process as well.....you've sifted the applications down to a group you want to talk to....then as Hallett mentioned some candidates would not re-locate to the west country....and you then might have some back for a deeper chat....and then you offer the job to someone....who might want to mull over it.....because of family, schooling etc.....when Adams came he didn't seem to have any of this baggage to sort out....so it was more straight forward........you want to get it right...even though you have the pressure of off-season and players having to be brought in etc.

Oh and PS. The chairman is Chief Investment Officer for a $40 billion investment fund. He has a big job and a diary to match. He's also in a different time zone effectively a working day behind us.

There's a local recruitment team doing the leg work but decisions of significance are going to go to Hallett.

    That slows things down too.

And in the meantime the rest of the league just carry on with their player recruitment and we get what's left yet again. Everything pointed to Lowe and now it seems that may not be likely. I don't want anyone here if they hesitate in accepting.

I read somewhere that Lowe has gone off to Europe in his camper-van to watch the Liverpool v Spurs game....so maybe he's one of the....' I don't want to live in Plymouth gang'.

I see the "Early Bird" season ticket has been extended yet again....until May 27th.....does that suggest poor sales ?....meaning too dear for Div2 football.

I agree the sooner we get the right man in the better. Our recruitment was not brilliant last year. However, we are still in the play-off period so some clubs haven't even finished playing yet.

I can remember Argyle being in the " play-off " period, and they had finished playing unfortunately before they went to Wembley...:headbang:.

Oh come on don't tell me clubs are not lining up signings as we speak. There always seems to be a reason why we are last to the trough. Even the ones we have offered contracts to are not exactly busting a gut to sign them it seems without a manager in place. Just get on with it Argyle.

I'm not that interested in his $40 billion company. We aren't going to see any of that are we. I am interested in signing a squad though. A lot of who or whatever we have been lining up since Christmas though will have gone by the way as we got rid of the one probably lining them up. We were also probably planning for league one not two.

    At least it isn't Evans.......

As yet Argyle have not arranged any summer friendlies with teams that are stronger than themselves.....we can remember last summer playing against clubs just one up from the local pub teams....the best being Yeovil (now National League) who were Div 2 and they thrashed us 5-1.....hopefully we are not going down the same path again this year.....we're told that we have two dates set aside (Adams era) for more competitive opponents....but at present nothing emerging....these teams are probably more interested in foreign opponents away than a trip to the west country..... and probably expect us to cover their expenses.
