We've done ok with Scots for a lot longer than that, a way back in the 70s and 80s.

 

Even the decade before that if you include the manager and a certain Donald Murray.

And if you want to go as far back as oldsparkey's era, three of the FA Cup winning team were Scottish.

 

I'm old enough to remember players in the late 70s, but not before that!

 

Ian Gibson was a bit useful too.

Maybe short termism is the order of the day being as this is Warnock's final season (allegedly).

Knowing what has happened to other youngsters that have gone to Man City, I'd be advising him not to.

I'm with short termism to a point, but he might be a player we need after colin has bailed. We can't just leave talent walk out of the door.

You couldn’t blame the lad for wanting to go to the best team in PL even if it means he won’t play for them. It’s not as if he’s going to play for us is it?

 

If they sign him they will loan him out to someone who will offer him regular games, probably Championship level.

 

Looks useful. Good experience both in Scotland (another north of the border link, if tenuous) and with Rotherham in the Football League. Should do better in a more successful side than Rotherham.

Sign him and the Turnbull lad mentioned previously.

 

Must be a first step in the process. Sign decent Championship quality players for this season - only then move on to better if we get up.

 

Ideally, some of the starters this year in the championship become squad players if we go back up.

I hope we don't win this one. I watched the lad several times playing for Jackett the season before last, and he was absolute pants - hooked off several times.

Must admit I didn't see him at all last season but he would have had to improve a hell of a lot to get anywhere near our level in te Championship - and that's not stellar by any means.
