Frankly, I believe this vote is a waste of time, even though I would encourage people to vote just to reach the 40% The chances are that even if option B is voted for and 40% is reached, Ehab will just delay the implementation of it until they are gone. He will then feel in his own twisted world, that he never actually gave into us hooligans, thereby saving face.
I think having an opportunity to vote is a good thing and you should use it when you have one. To be honest I’d rather that it got over 40% and option A was chosen than it didn’t get to 40% because that would allow Ehab to talk about not enough fans care about concessions, and use the ‘it’s just a minority’ line again. And at least we’d know what our fellow fans think. For what it’s worth I think it will be option B if enough vote. I think most people who would vote A because it was cheaper for them or they think it’s less important than being moved again. (no one on here) just won’t vote as they’d be too uncomfortable doing that. Which is why the club is ringing people to encourage them to vote. They think all the more radical ones have voted B anyway and want to get the uncomfortable ones to vote as there’s more chance it will be A. How do you eat an elephant? Get B voted in then start the battle to have it implemented without more seat evictions
Even if 40% vote and whichever way if goes apathy rules again. The vast majority won’t have voted for whichever one wins. This will cause problems to rumble on, the Allams and those for and against both being able to claim the other side only had a minority of fans who supported the winner. If the people against the Allams are a tiny minority this was the chance for the pro Allams majority to demonstrate their support.Just as it was a chance for a majority to show that they were in favour of one of those less successful methods used by the other 91 clubs and not one which has seen crowds decrease the 4th lowest in the division, lower than crowds from smaller cities and towns that were relegated. However, as I said, apathy rules. You sometimes wonder if the passion is there. You feel that at other clubs in the same situation it would have been different.
Feel there is very little chance of options B reaching the required 40%, as long as the Allams are counting the votes, would have preferred someone independent to be doing the counting.
The voting just has to hit 40% before any action will be taken (allegedly), not 40% voting for one option.
The thought that we are struggling to get to 40% of members voting on this is a shocking indictment of the apathy in the supporter base and makes me realise even more that the desire we have on this site for change still isn't matched by everybody. Getting back to concessions is hardly a revolution but would be at least one small step in a positive direction so v depressing if cant get there. I'm hoping that everyone on this site who can vote has done so, but if there are members who cant be bothered, maybe they'd like to pass their membership number over to those who want to vote but are no longer eligible as either they've lapsed or live too far away like me to make it worth being a member but still attend matches regularly and care about this issue.
So , the club are ringing people encouraging them to vote , but they don't know who has voted but they know 35% of people have , but the vote accepts old numbers and these haven't been checked ? How can they possibly know 35% of people eligible have voted ??
They have been checked, the announcement says the voting is over 35%, after non-valid votes have been deleted.
But they are still calling some members who have already voted so their system is not as good as it could be.
This is so stupid. Why do they need a vote to see that the current system is bollocks. All they need to do is look at the attendance. If they look again after the figures have been adjusted they will see the real picture. Nothing they do now is any good. Just a pair of know it alls who think they know better than anyone else.
They’re just calling and emailing everyone on their database, they’re obviously not bothering to check who’s voted already.
The vote appears to being managed by Darnborough and the recruitment dept. They are used to calling everyone 2-3 times after initial knock backs!
Knowing our club Kemps that should guarantee you a call, however your comments/vote will be subsequently deleted!
