Today is the Day For EAST .Ground ok,Draw ok Jockey ok [double yesterday] pace angle ok so- no excuses. .If she can't win this she is not the filly I thought she was!

One other race to consider There is a decent race in France today it is the Prix D'Ispahan (Group 1) in which ZABEEL PRINCE runs- he is up against last years French Derby winner Study of man and the Prix De L'Opera Longines (Fillies' Group 1) winner Wild Illusion- What is he doing in this race? Look at his last run and there are three subsequent winners , Forest Ranger G2 Hucksley stakes- Mustashry Group 1 Lockinge and Elarqam -listed winner at Goodwood yesterday because of that win Zabeel prince runs of a rating of 117 the top rated in the field best price 3/1.

2:20 - Curragh - Gopsies Daughter 5/1 Win Only. Apart from that lazy betting at Uttoxeter for me. Tom O'Brien looks to have 3 live chances today so win patent and acca.

A cheap G1 race going begging today. They should make it a G3.

I like one in the last at The Curragh today. Going to go win only at the price:

    5:30 - Persian Lion 6/1

Hermosa was a worthy winner at Newmarket. Qabala struggled to quicken at one point, but stayed on well having been forced wide. May be ridden more prominently today, and is a fair price to make the best of her way home up the long straight. Every chance of reversing placings with hefty Newmarket conqueror; that doesn't mean she'll win though.

With the Bell yard flying it might be worth taking a chance on Frankie bouncing Pretty Pollyanna our of the stalls and tracking across to grab the rail.

Not quite sure that you can say "ground ok" as this will definitely be the quickest surface she has on thus far.

well, yes, shes one of my favourite fillies, and has a lot going for her.although ive backed fairyland in the english version, she didnt seem to stay the trip,so ill probably rely on PRETYY POLLYANNA too..

here are my first three for today, all over the jumps:

    kelso,2 00:

hard to evaluate, what SOME DAY SOON beat last time out,but he did it well enough,to think,he can follow up today, despite being penalised..

    fontwell,2 10:

most of these have a rather uneven keel of form,so a tentative vote goes to the unexposed JOLY MAKER,who makes his debut for an in-form yard, and is surely not overfaced here,so can go well today.

    uttoxeter,2 25:

DU DESTIN stepped up markedly on his recent efforts last time out in second, and the form is working out quite well,so definite shout if able to kick on again..

There was 2 mil of rain at the Curragh overnight, with more to follow. I would not be offering ground conditions as an excuse if she were beaten. There's a race in France that could shed light on her chance. Imperial charm who was 4th in the French 1000 appears in the group 1 Prix Saint-alary,she is up against the hot favourite Siyarafina,a prominent show would confirm the quality of the French 1000 guineas

The bookmakers seem quite happy to lay Newmarket heroine Hermosa to complete the double at The Curragh. Perhaps that is something to do with the poor record of fillies attempting the follow-up. O’Brien has only managed it with Winter a couple of years ago but he has won it five other times. Given Moore’s habit of picking the wrong one, should we be looking at the other three Ballydoyle inmates?

Clearly Qabala has to keep improving on her third at HQ whilst more experienced fifth Fairyland, sixth Just Wonderful and eighth Iridessa look up against it unless they try some new tactics. The race reads like there will be a lot of pace as most of the field like to be close to the front.

Pouliches third East comes here to make her fifth start but just how good was that French race? I am unconvinced that it was more than a moderate renewal so those that ran at Newmarket may simply be better. Plus what chance Frank’s son doing the Irish Guineas double?

Pretty Pollyanna, winner of the Prix Morny and the Duchess Of Cambridge last term, comes here on debut but did she really see out the trip in the Fillies’ Mile; and the two that beat her then are race-fit today. We have already seen one horse throw the 2018 form book out the window – how about another?

Should I be posting the Longchamp races on the French Racing thread?

Zarkallani should win the opener but I expect he will be Calyx-type odds for anyone interested.

The Prix Du Lys may only feature five but may turn out to be very informative. Not many Coolmore horses get stabled with Andre Fabre, so is Arc entry Ballet Russe good enough to put Charlie Appleby’s Moonlight Spirit firmly in his place? The latter is taking a step up in class from handicapping, so how good is he?

All eyes will undoubtedly be on Siyarafina in the Prix Saint-Alary, France’s premier trial for the Prix Diane. Sadly there is only one British raider (Imperial Charm) and, in reality, only two serious local rivals. Siyarafina must win this well.

The feature race, the Prix d’Ispahan, should answer quite a few questions. With the Earl of Sefton form working out so well domestically, is Zabeel Prince really good enough for Group 1 glory? Pascal Bary’s Study Of Man turned out to be a bit of a disappointment last term and was thrashed by Waldgeist in the Prix Ganay, with Intellogent behind. We have yet to see Freddie Head’s With You this year so this could come down to the two Godolphin runners: Dream Castle (last in the Dubai Turf at Meydan) or Prix de l’Opera winner WILD ILLUSION. If Charlie Appleby’s filly is fit enough to do herself justice, I can see her taking advantage of the sex allowance to collect here.

I thought Siyarafina was too short today. Collateral form suggests she would have won the French Guineas but she missed the race because of a poor gallop in the lead-up. She is going further today and at odds-on she was not for me despite the fact that I backed her ante-post for the Prix Diane some time ago. Victory today will see Siyarafina pretty short for the French Oaks but Platane is progressive herself and finished in the style of a filly who would appreciate today's trip when seeing off Etoile last time. Etoile landed the G3 Prix Cleopatre in ready fashion next time for Jean-Claude Rouget and Platane is very progressive looking. At 5/1 I thought Platane was a solid each-way pick and money back if she is in the 1-2-3. If Siyarafina blitzes it I will be delighted for the Prix Diane prospect and could still get my money back on Platane. There is not a lot between them for now but Siyarafina is priced as if she has 10 lbs in hand.

In the D'Ispahan it comes down to whether Zabeel Prince can outgun Wild Illusion for pace. The filly is the proven stayer and very solid but Zabeel Prince showed a good burst to beat Forest Ranger, Mustashry and Elarqam last time and that looked a new best for him even though he is 6YO now. His race could not have panned out better and I stuck with him at 3/1. Not amazing value but this is not that strong a race in terms of depth.

In the Irish Guineas I was not strongly convinced which way it will fall. Hermosa and Qabala set the standard on Newmarket form but for all that Qabala was reported to have stayed on in the Guineas there, I felt Lady Kaya just outstayed her for second in the last stride. Lady Kaya was immediately reported as returning to sprint trips so how well was Qabala staying on that day? In the Guineas I felt Just Wonderful might be the one to benefit most for the race. She was in and out last year but was good on her day. With O'Brien junior taking the ride it may not be as much second string as first appears. East seems very weak in the betting, so it was Just Wonderful for me at 11/2.

3.28 Long Platane 5/1 Each Way

    4.03 Long Zabeel Prince 3/1

    3.25 Curragh Just Wonderful 11/2

Any odds on the 3.25 and 3.28 clashing?

hard to split VIEN CHERCHERS and cultram abbey here,as both have appealing claims on form, but the former ran a mighty race in the staffordshire plate at uttoxeter in third, and this is a drop in class today.can also run off the same mark here,so definite chances..

Usual farce on the bookie channels, Uttoxeter jump racing on when there's a g1 in france

Jump racing should be long finished by now.
