Mark Little and Holmes-Dennis will be great full backs for us. Both likes to attack. Looks like we will be playing 352 next season with them as wing backs. So we won't need wingers really. But will need a couple of CB's though.
Apparently we have signed another 2 players but can't announce the deals yet. Something to do with waiting for the other club to be ready for it to be announced!
Gk has now become a priority, our U23s GK I don't think is ready for regular 1st team football. Shame about Jack Bonham joining Gillingham apart from Joe Lumley from QPR I thought he was the best GK we have had for a very long time
Give Alexis and Armstrong a go. Save some wage budget and go and get a striker who will score 30 t0 play with JCH.
That might be one step forward and one and a half back though and if we did get in someone who could hit the net thirty times how long do you think it would be before that individual was ' moved on' ?
Depends.... will they have a stupid £300k release clause in their contract so can go for peanuts? Will we just offer a 12 month contract so can walk for free? If no stupid clause and no stupid length, I guess we will get 2 seasons max before he is sold. A club like ours may sell after one season as we need the money!
I read that The Shrimpers have snapped up Goodship from Weymouth, scored just shy of 80 goals in two seasons for The Terras and just 24 years old, I wonder if our scouts took a look at him only being just down the road like ?
Read somewhere last week that Rovers had made 2 signings and they would be announced when both clubs agreed was this a figment of someone's imagination or have we paid a fee for the players.
Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce the arrival of defender Tom Davies, from Coventry City. The deal will officially go through on July 1st and will be subject to EFL and FA approval. The 27-year leaves Coventry after two seasons with the club and was part of the side that earned promotion to League One in 2018 via the Play-Offs, alongside current Rovers forward Jonson Clarke-Harris. During his time at the Ricoh Arena, Davies made precisely 50 appearances and was part of the defence that kept a clean sheet against Rovers and the in-form Clarke-Harris back in April. please log in to view this image Prior to his stay in the Midlands, the centre-half was a key figure in the Accrington Stanley side that reached the League Two Play-Off semi-finals in 2016; so much so that he earned himself a move to title-hopefuls Portsmouth the following campaign. This time Davies was able to go the distance, as he and Pompey finished top of League Two to earn automatic promotion back to the third tier. The defender was part of the youth set up at Manchester United in the early 2000s and prior to his Football League breakthrough in 2015, spent a couple of years getting a taste of the senior game in non-league, representing FC United of Manchester, Alfreton Town, Lincoln City and Southport. Manager Graham Coughlan said, "We are really pleased to add Tom to the squad, everyone has been working hard to get it over the line and it's great he's chosen to join the project here. "Tom is a recognised Football League central defender, who will add a lot of solidity and quality in the heart of the back four. "He really impressed me when we played Coventry away at the Ricoh Arena in April, he kept a clean sheet against us and since that game, has been on our radar. "At 27-years old he offers a good level of maturity, but physically is in his prime and we hope he will enjoy his best years here at Rovers."
This is a very good signing. Pleased as punch with this. Could be better than Lockyer! Here is his interview....
Josh Hare has signed for Rovers a R/B who previously played for Eastleigh, My first thought is that Joe Partington will be leaving
One of Four Goalies from the Dutch second division outfit, should be interesting, let's hope Stappers a good Stopper....................I'l get me coat.
That leaves us looking for a GK, LMF and a ST We are also looking at Grimmer and Edwards according to the press that should give us good cover at the back if Grimmer and Edwards sign
Joe Partington has left the club and has signed for Eastleigh, he is setting up a business in the area so his decision is not just a football one. Thanks for all you have done for Rovers Joe and all the best for your future
