Shankland is being linked again. As is a kid called Diver from Celtic (tenuously). Both strikers. Shankland got 33 goals in the Scottish Championship last season, but he did a bit cack at Aberdeen. I’d take him, he’s a lot like Fryatt.
Because, Spurs will buy him to prevent him going anywhere else, but have no intention of playing him in the first team for two or three years, rather than playing in the stiffs he's loaned back to his former club. Maybe there's not a lot to be worried about but it prevents the lesser Prem clubs from having a sniff and giving him a go in the first team. I will be amazed if he plays for Spurs this coming season.
I was never convinced Spurs would come in for him, I think a move to the likes of Leicester, Bournemouth or Southampton is far more likely.
Fair enough. Although Dele Alli was loaned straight back to MK Dons and he went straight into the first team when he came back. I know hes the exception rather than the rule but it can happen
I've said previously that Bowens agent should be telling him to wait. Let the jig clubs buy their starlets first and then Bowen can step into their shoes. I think hed be a good replacement for Zaha at Palace.
Hull City are interested in signing Celtic’s young centre forward Ciaran Diver, according to Football Insider. A source at the club has told the website an approach has been made by the Tigers to the Scottish giants, with City looking to add a youthful striker to their ranks next season under Grant McCann. The 19-year-old is understood to be attracting attention from others clubs in England and is expected to depart Parkhead this summer after failing to break through into the Celtic first team. The teenager spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish League Two club Edinburgh City and has previous loan experience from a short spell at Stranraer, but has not made a first team appearance for Celtic. A young striker who has come through the Celtic academy, Diver is down the pecking order at the club and will be allowed to depart, with new City head coach Grant McCann wanting to add youth alongside some experience to his squad next season. I'm posting these things for information, but most of them are from really **** sources.
Benfica have announced an agreement with Atletico Madrid to sell Joao Felix for a fee of €126m. Barcelona have signed former Valencia goalkeeper Neto for €26m plus €9m add ons.
Anyone else a bit surprised Bowen hasnt been bought yet? I mean players from the championship are being sold, the Leeds kid to Spurs for one.. Then we have Bowen, a young lad who's proven over 2 seasons he's the real deal. How has he not been snapped up? Especially when its us, a club known to be for sale with owners happy to sell players to get their money back.. Im assuming it'll eventually happen this summer, just thought it would have been done by now.
They are no doubt waiting for the magic bid of £10m. Bowen’s stats are better than Dan James and Bowen has done it over 2 seasons. I’m surprised as well.
We've enquired about posh player Marcus Maddison apparently. “Hull have been in touch,” Posh director of football Barry Fry told the Peterborough Telegraph. “It wasn’t Grant as he doesn’t deal with transfers. “They asked how much we would want for him and I said they would have to match the buyout clause in his contract (£2.5 million). If they do that we couldn’t stop him leaving if he wanted to go.
Here lies a problem. Not with actual signings in the end maybe, but the fact that the manager isn't involved in the call to the other manager to discuss the player at least is odd I'd think?
