There is also the chance that he is a secret Gills supporter and has the old Automatic Retailing shirt made by Vandanel.
Actually grumpygit - the answer probably isn't complicated. I suspect that the Club has chosen to use up an old shirt from last season -- the new shirts are probably nowhere near being ready (( surprise not )).
I can't keep up with all the changes, but appreciate your posts mate that are keeping me and everyone else updated, that i can look back on as and when I get time
You're getting me excited just reading your updates....you know we are going to fall flat on our face, don't you
But until August I can believe that our players are world beaters, our team are the best ever assembled, and we are unbeatable in the league. after August back down to earth.
I like the way all the interviews are talking about pushing for a top 6 finish, whatever the final outcome it's better than starting a season hoping for survival.
Starting to lose count now at how many signings we've made so early so will try and recap: Connor Ogilvie (CB/LB) from Tottenham Hotspur Lee Hodson (RB/LB) from Rangers Jack Bonham (GK) from Brentford Stuart O'Keefe (CM) from Cardiff City Matty Willock (CM) from Manchester United Oussenyo Cisse (CDM/CB) from MK Don's Mikael Ndjoli (ST/RW/LW) from Bournemouth - Season Long Loan Nathan Thomas (RW/LW) from Sheffield United - Season Long Loan Just up top that really needs strengthening then and maybe one more for full back and we're all set.
Pegleg - I'm not sure if we need more strikers - or to be 'obsessed' about a 'target' man. Whilst I would like to keep Eaves - and the option that he ( his type ), would provide - I rather suspect that, with an Eaves in the side, we will go 'one-dimensional' (hoofball). There is a time and place for hoofball - but not for 89+ minutes every game. The make up of the squad appears to have more youth, pace, and ( on paper ), more quality than of recent years. There is no reason why, players like Hanlon, Charles-Cook, Willock, Thomas, Ndjoli, Oldaker can't be used as a dynamic attack-minded squad -- using their pace to move forward with speed and create chances for each other. The last time this happened was at the beginning of the season a few years ago - when we beat Sheffield United 4-0. We attacked with pace and numbers - it was a joy to watch - and if I remember correctly, it was one of our wingers ( Jarvis ), who scored two lovely goals by cutting in from the wings. ............happy days.
I'm glad you did this, I'd be turning up to Priestfield in August and aside from shirt colour I'd be trying to work out who is the home team
