From my far Eastern betting syndicate mates in China all I can say is go hard on Liverpool not to win.
please log in to view this image Interesting! Srbeny continues in an attacking midfield role, Klose returns, McLean-Leitner parternship trialled.
Great to see Klose and McLean return and Srbeny used behind Drmic again with Buendia and Hernandez on the flanks. Suspect we'll see Idah, Roberts and Cantwell come on as subs. Squad looking healthy now, so please no injuries!
Srbeny has been playing a lot of minutes at no.10 in pre-season, have we possibly written him off too early? He looks to be playing well
Suspect it's more a case of figuring out whether he goes out on loan or not. Pukki and Stiepermann are known quantities, their place in our squad isn't in doubt. Drmic and Srbeny both need time on the pitch to impress, and they can't both play up front simultaneously. Additionally, Srbeny has a similar build to Stiepermann, a player we don't currently have cover for. If Srbeny can play that role (and clearly he doesn't look completely lost as Farke has persisted with it), maybe there's a reason for keeping him in the squad rather than out on loan. Alternatively, Rhodes + an attacking midfielder join, with Srbeny and Idah out on loan.
From MB: Goal City! Buend it like Emi - right-footed from range, tucked inside Raya's far post. Lovely goal.
1-1 now Marcondes for Brentford From PD: "Sloppy from #ncfc. Sharp passing down #ncfc Byram's flank. unmarked #bfc Marcondes cool finish to slot beyond Fahrmann from 8 yards".
Being played behind closed doors at Colney, but MB giving updates. MB: "Norwich in their stride now. Prolonged possession, with their best inroads down the left. Hernandez and Heise combining well. Brentford penned and left to do most of their best work on the counter. Time for a drinks break. It's so hot!"
MB: "Watkins with a low drive from a wide angle. Well held by Fahrmann. GK has been secure with his hands so far; just one stray pass with his feet." Half-time now.
Interested to see how Srbeny does. Anyone know if he is leading the line? Or like some of the other friendlies, is he being used as a 10? With Drmic leading the line?
Michael Bailey on the EDP live thread has suggested he's playing as a 10, and that how that works is something Farke is keen to assess today. Updates have been sparse, and no mention of Drmic or Srbeny, so it's hard to say. Webber is apparently watching the game away from the team, with Neil Adams. Webber taking/making a lot of phonecalls.
Goal Brentford Watkins again - FK from the Norwich left, all the way into the 6yd box and Watkins dispatches. Bit of a shocker, that one - to be honest. Starting to show that they had a training session this morning. Hopefully. #wakeupcall
1-3, repeatedly caught out on the counter, Godfrey rusty, Drmic anonymous, full back positioning causing issues.... let's hope Farke has learned something!
Disappointing certainly, but the squad had a full training session this morning and fatigue became a factor in the second half. Good to see Buendia back and scoring a lovely curling shot. New defensive pairing of Klose and Godfrey had problems with counterattacks with Godfrey having a particularly torrid time. MB described Drmic's play in the first half as quiet, but it's only his second 45 minutes so we can't make too many judgements yet. Leitner and McLean did well in midfield and Heise and Byram got good game time before Lewis and Aarons came on after 76 minutes. Idah also came on for the last 14 minutes.
