Tyson snr. was defending him all day yesterday, saying he'd done nothing wrong. He must have been blocked for saying he hadn't seen any abuse. Taylor seems to be trailing his coat.
Taylor Blocked me as part of the “Oak cull” even though I haven’t been in the Oak for years. He needs to grow up a bit - all of the guys he has Blocked are true Charlton & quality people.
Not the way to win friends and influence people. If he scores he might do a David Mooney to the covered end.
Bowyer has all but confirmed that Taylor wanted to leave. “He’s disappointed things didn’t go a certain way”
I think this puts to bed all the rubbish said about Lyle...………………. Charlton boss Lee Bowyer: I’d have respected Lyle Taylor if he had told me he wasn’t in right frame to play 10th August 2019 Richard Cawley 0 Comments BY RICHARD CAWLEY Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has admitted he had doubts over starting Lyle Taylor in today’s Championship clash with Stoke City. Brentford made multiple bids for the Addicks striker before Thursday’s transfer deadline. But Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet rejected them all and Taylor ended up staying in SE7. He opened the scoring in today’s 3-0 win and also provided the assist for Conor Gallagher’s goal. Asked if he had doubts about starting Taylor, Bowyer replied: “Earlier on in the week, yeah. “If we did keep him then I didn’t think his head would be right to play today. But before I went and done press yesterday I went and spoke to Lyle and said: ‘Talk to me – what are your thoughts?’. Because if he had said to me: ‘Bow I can’t play tomorrow’ then I would have respected that. “You have to remember the opportunity that was getting thrown in front of him was a life-changing opportunity. So I can understand how it could mess his head up a little bit. “But he said: ‘No. I’m ready – I want to play. I’m here to score goals and win games’. He was no different – he gave me and the team everything. “It was just like another Lyle Taylor day, wasn’t it? “He’s a pro and he knows the rules, if you like, every kid and every man they want to play football. Thankfully for us he is still here because if he wasn’t then it would have made my job a lot, lot harder to stay in this division, for sure.”
Come 31st December he would have not scored 6 goals. Early season wins and the heat should not cloud things fron 2 weeks ago.
Agreed, I thought it was a lovely strike. Once again Bowyer has played a blinder. My faith this season comes from Gallen, Bowyer and Jackson.
Fans asked the club to show a bit of class yesterday and put a pic of Gallen on the big screen, so we could show our appreciation. It never happened, of course. As you say, we are lucky to have the “big 3” and there is no doubt that the team spirit they engendered last season - with so many different players - is still going strong.
Ignore him, he’s the biggest fisherman since Jaques Cousteau. I’d say the mood amongst the fanbase has changed massively in the last week. The new players look quality, and we have beaten a poor side (Blackburn) and a reasonable side (Stoke) These sorts of wins will keep us up.
@Clb74 could be potless next Wednesday night. He's paying the Taylor bet and we have another breakfast bet for Saturday's following at Barnsley. He says above 800
