Doug Clarke, a great servant to City, I must have watched nearly all his game at home and some away. RIP Doug.
Before my time, but 400 games tells you all you need to know. I look forward to respecting his life and career next Tues against Bburn
Saw him at the tail end of his career.A big favourite, along with Bill Bradbury, with some older blokes who used to go in my local.
Very sad to learn of Doug Clarke's passing. One of the stalwarts of City's attack in the late 50's-early 60's in the era of Bill Bradbury, Alf Akerman, Sid Gerrie, Brian Bulless, and a young Chris Chilton. Doug was tough as nails, hard to knock off the ball with his wide legged running stance, and a great crosser of the ball. RIP Doug...a City legend !!!!
Very sad news. Lots of great memories of standing in the Well at BP, watching Doug fighting his way down the wing and putting in pinpoint crosses to Bill Bradbury and (the very under-rated) Colin Smith. RIP Doug

Steve Curry, football journalist 76. One of those journalists from the era when they got to know the players and managers and knew about the subject and how to actually communicate well.

Two-time Oscar nominee Peter Fonda, who became a counterculture icon when he co-wrote, produced and starred in seminal 1969 road movie “Easy Rider,” then showed Hollywood he could act about three decades later in “Ulee’s Gold,” died on Friday from lung cancer at his home in Los Angeles. He was 79. His sister Jane Fonda said in a statement, “I am very sad. He was my sweet-hearted baby brother. The talker of the family. I have had beautiful alone time with him these last days. He went out laughing.”
Former Manchester United trialist Joel Darlington tragically took his own life after persistent injury problems halted his progression within the game. He was only 20 years of age. Rest in peace, Joel Darlington.
