Delsy Monday September 2nd is our deadline for transfers along with league 2 and those north of the border

 

Apparently we were interested in signing Ched Evans glad that didn't happen

 

I didn't know that, oh well three weeks left then to get in a BIG name, who's it going to be ?

 

Would have been a great signing that!

 

What do we actually need? We have cover for every position and our youngsters too for extra cover. We have enough to see us through until Jan and then see where we are to strengthen our weak areas.

 

I think we need a Left sided MF who can run at defenders cross the ball and not behave like he is the only player on the pitch
I have only seen 2 friendlies Yate and Birmingham and neither GK fills me with much confidence

 

Sky sports have made a major signing Jose Mourinho has joined them

 

Matty Taylor set to join Oxford in our league. Should get a interesting reception at the Mem.

 

I should imagine that if common sense prevails Mr Taylor might be ' excused duty' for that particular fixture. I would think that he is going to do very well though for his home town club, a very potent striker at League one level as we all very well know and linking him up with other newcomers at The Kassam Oxford United could be quite a force for this coming term.

 

I'm sure the couple of hundred at the Minmal shouting abuse at him, will not phase him too much..... It's when you start punching the horses again he should be worried!!

 

According to the WDP Matty Taylor was going out on loan but it fell through at the death and he was excused from training and was at the Oxford match because he is a resident of Oxford. There is no loan arranged for him at Oxford

 

Luke Russe could be on his way out on loan to Gloucester City.

 

I was hoping Luke Russe would have been in our 1st squad for some of the mickey mouse cup games

 

His first club was Oxford...

Going to be an interesting week this week Stefan I'm a Payne tomorrow and Matty Taylor on Saturday for Oxford. Who do you reckon will get the noisiest welcome
Oxford have also signed George Thorne on loan today

 

Both will get it as much as each other. I doubt though Taylor will be involved. I hope he is though

Alfie Kilgour has signed a new contract length not stated, good to see we are trying to keep our better youngsters at the club

Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce that centre-back Alfie Kilgour has today signed a new contract with the Club...

Kilgour is a product of the Rovers youth academy, and since signing his first professional deal, has gone from strength to strength.

The center-back gained experience through a series of loans in lower divisions, progressing up the footballing ladder each year as his game developed. He began his loan stints with local side Mangotsfield United, and has since played for Cirencester Town, Hungerford Town, and most recently, Maidenhead United in the Vanarama National League in the 2018/19 season.

However, in March of the 2018/19 season, Kilgour was recalled from his time in the National League, having impressed the manager, he returned to the first team, and made four league appearances for the Gas, making his EFL debut against Gillingham.

This 2019/20 campaign has already marked another waypoint in the youngster's career, managing to stake a real claim for a spot in the first 11. He has already played five games for Rovers this season, with the Gaffer continuing to sing his praises.

Coughlan commented on Kilgour's deal saying, "He's a player with a lot of potential, he's got a fantastic ability to adapt and learn. I've really enjoyed working with Alfie and he's repaid the faith that we have shown in him. We've already seen how well he's performed in the opening few games of this season, and this new contract is a testament to our belief in his continued development at the club."
