Honeyman with the kick off. 3: City working the ball around on the attacking half. Can't find the right ball into the box. Fleming looks fresh, couple of optimistic runs 5: Weimann with a finish way over Long. Burke trying to clear, fell to the Austrian who couldn't hit the target. Slow start. 6: De Wijs breaks play in midfield and goes for a run towards the box. Bowen gets stuck on a defender before he can find De Wijs who gets running back towards the defence. 9: Not much happening. Lot of long balls and lost possesion. 10: Weimann almost breaks free! Causing bit of a chaos in the City box before it gets cleared. 11: Bristol passing the ball around. Good start by Fleming by the way. 14: Bristol have been better without really doing anything. City struggling to keep possesion. 18: Honeyman and Grosicki try to create something, shot gets blocked, never dangerous. 19: Penalty shout for Bristol! Think we got lucky there. Eaves lost the possesion, Bristol attacked in numbers, Afobe gets past Da Silva who seems to tackle him. Afobe dives, ref says NO. 20: HUGE chance to City. Eaves should perhaps have done better, got a bit close, 1 v 1 with the keeper. Corner. Nothing comes out of it. Game waking up 22: ANOTHER HUGE CHANCE. Bowen with a cross, falls to Burke who sends a rocket thats cleared by some Bristol defender on the line. 25: Grosicki with a chance! Going a bit back and forwards now. Grosicki does his man, shoots, keeper pushes it out to a corner 26: Nothing comes out of the corner. Pretty decent game now. City creating the best chances, but Bristol are threatning. 28: Bowen gets taken down. Freekick couple of yards outside of the pen box. Good opportunity 29: Bowen smashes it into the wall. Nr 22 in Bristol goes down now on the counter, does his hamstring. 30: It's Kalas. Won't be able to play on. Gets stretchered out. 32: Kasey Palmer comes on. 33: Bristol with a half chance. Feels like they're trying to find the space in behind Burke and De Wijs. 35: Bristol turning the heat on? Cross gets headed out to a corner by Da Silva. 36: City get a free kick following the corner. City try to take it quick, but Rose in Bristol gets in the way and passes it forward.....yellow card 38: Grosicki blasts past his defender. Takes too long though with the pass, defender comes back and City gets a corner. Falls no nothing yet again. 39: Grosicki ones again goes on a run. About to get dangerous, then gets a **** touch and looses possesion 40: PENALTY BRISTOL. Some **** defending. Stewart with a poor challenge from behind 41: 1-0 Benik Afobe.... 42: DRAMA. Bristol hits the crossbar, danced around on the line. We need a half time break 44: NEVERMIND THE BREAK. BOWEN SCORES!! 44: Bowen gets played through, looked like bloody bambi on ice before he finds his feet, places it into the left corner. 45: Brownhill went down injured during the goal. Looks a bit shaken up, should be alright 3 mins added Nothing happened. HALF TIME Penalty situation with Da Silva not given SECOND HALF 45: Weimann takes the kick off. 47: Good chance City! Ball falls to Irvine and then Eaves, poor finishing. Bit of a panic situation in the box before Bristols keeper gets control over it. 49: Positive start from City. Usually doesn't end well that.... 50: Weimann hits the nearest Tesco with a shot flying high 52: Bristol with a decent attack. Da Silva gets passed easily, ball finds its way into the box, collected by Long. 54: Bowen runs basically all the way from the half way line into the box, gets knocked down, but never a pen. Bristol trying to expose the wings. 56: Corner to City 56: Once again a **** corner. 57: Decent City attack! Grosicki with a shot, blocked out to another corner. Better this time? 58: OUFF! Poor corner, but City keep the ball and a cross finds its way into the box and Bowen misses a big chance with a glancing header. 59: Corner to Bristol 59: Cleared by Burke. City with the possesion. 62: Both teams trying to find some rhytm. Ouff, POOR challenge by Palmer. Da Silva goes down. 63: Yellow card Palmer. Decent free kick position to City for a cross 63: Headed out to a City corner. 64: ONCE AGAIN Bowen hits the first Bristol player in his way. Bristol counters. 65: Grosicki with a **** free kick, way off target, 35 yards out. 67: Bristol on the attack, goes out to a corner. 68: Decent corner. Baker heads it over the goal. 69: Nice attack by CIty! Nice play between Grosicki and Irvine. Grosicki goes down, shouts for a pen. Not given, probably the right choice. Corner to City. Once again awful. 70: Eaves misses an absolute sitter, but it's thankfully (I guess) blown for a free kick to Bristol 73: Not much happening. Need some subs. 74: CHANCE. De Wijs with a good break in play. Grosicki goes attacking, keeps his defender guessing, goes for a slow but well placed shot that glances the post and goes out. 75: Sub Bristol, Semenyo in, not sure who went out. 76: Tafazolli IN, De Wijs OUT (struggled a bit with some injury) 78: GOAL BRISTOL. Burke, own goal 78: Fleming got a bit caught out on his wing, Bristol player put a cross in, Burke tried to clear it, but put it into the net instead. 80: GOAL BRISTOL. Exposed once again on the wing. Cross into Afobe, put it behind Long. Way too easy. 1-3 83: Feels like we got a painful 10 minutes waiting 84: Bristol targeting the wing with Fleming. Corner Bristol. He's a bit too lonely down there. Nothing comes out of the corner. 87: Yellow card Weimann. Free kick City in a decent position. Bowler and Magennis in, Irvine and Honeyman out. Too late. 88: Corner to City. **** CORNER once again. First Bristol player clears. 90: Bit of a selfish play by Magennis, goes out to corner. And...it's ****. 92: Almost 4-1, decent save by Long. 93: Eaves goes down in the box, wants a pen, not given, he's not happy. Bristol with a chance on the other end, doesn't lead to anything 94: The end. Bristol win 3-1
We won it! Matt Duke with the pen to win it Bit controversial with his dabbing in front of the away stand, but we'll take it! Heading to the final!
So, a midfielder ( who allegedly doesnt like playing RB) playing RB and a young (albeit promising) kid at LB. Hmmm, not good. 3-0 then #obvs
?? If aimed at me ....not knocking the pair, more about the state we are still in (if we're honest). And it was blindingly obvious all summer we needed better FB options., especially if GMcC persists with 4 3 3 which he will
Don’t know why we have a big number 9 when grosicki refuses to pass every time and either shoots or takes it too far and loses the ball.
