This was an early match last season if memory serves except away not home. Walsall started the season like a train I think and then the wheels came off and they couldn't get a result any which way. Hang on that sounds a bit like us except we started badly, flattered for a mid section and ended in a heap as well.

They haven't started so well this time and this is one I think most Argyle fans would expect to win if we are to do anything this season. Life is never that simple however so I am not counting any chickens just yet. My grandaughter is going this weekend. She is a bit of a lucky mascot with the games she has attended. Argyle should give her a tiicket for free. Anyway, we can do this one so I'm going for a reasonably comfortable win. (you have seen my predicting powers)

8 minute cameo for Antoni Sarcevic. Comes on, scores, sent off.

This of course after 4 Walsall players have been booked for fouls on Danny Mayor, which smacks of a conspiracy.

Reading some of the comment on the match...it seems the referee decided he was going to be the star of the match....whistle happy....and was it a penalty ?
Hadn't he just come up from the National League and only in his mid-twenties.

Watched the Sky video.....penalty.....not really sure.....good to see Ryan Taylor get two good goals.

PS....Lowe will check out the Sarcevic red card...and maybe get some advise on it and then decide if they will appeal against it.

Bit late I know but went to a party after the match and have just got home.

Firstly as it has been mentioned lets talk officials. The Referee was completely useless. He gave weird decisions all afternoon and mostly it was against Argyle. It almost seemed at one point he was actually some weird anti Argyle person who had come to screw them over. Sending off. At the very worst it was a yellow. At very best he won the ball and it wasn't even a foul. He gave a foot up against Mayor at one point when the opposition player had his head knee high. Then he didn't give it a couple of times when the foot actually was raised. Apparently it was his first league match. if the football authorities have any sense it will also be his last. Dreadful.
The game. Argyle started well and scored fairly early. Good cross into the box on the ground and Taylor put it away. It was then a sort of stale mate for the rest of the half but Argyle more than shaded it. Couple of saves from Argyle but never really looked troubled. Second half and for some reason Argyle took their foot off the gas. Walsall were made to look better than they are. Enter Sarsevic. Great through ball to him in space and his finish was clinical. Exit Sarsevic. Wrongly in my opinion. By this time Argyle were home and dry and Walsall never looked like scoring. Another great through ball I think again by Mayor and Taylor finished with a flourish. For me he was MOM. Not sure we were 3 goals better than Walsall but we definately deserved the win.

Irony. I was talking to a bloke pre kick off and we were mentioning Taylor. I said I didn't think the man fitted into this style of play and Was surprised he was included instead of Mr Rangers. The bloke I was talking to agreed. Bugger me he then tucks away the first and smashes in the 3rd. Typical Argyle. Finishing on the Red card. I think Lowe can appeal all he wants but the chances of it being overturned for me are probably non existent. This Ref will stick to his story come hell or high water.

The third goal sensible (watch the video) was directly from Palmers clearance....straight over the defence and Taylor ran on to it and leathered it with his left foot.

Bloody party....when us exiles were waiting for your words of wisdom.

Hardly words of wisdom if I got goal 3 wrong then. I did miss the set up because of distraction but thought it was Mayor who set it up. Good finish anyway. Strangely we did revert to hoof ball a bit in the second half which is in complete contrast to the normal with Lowe's tactics. Maybe Lowe was changing from the predictable to confuse everyone.

Sarcevic went in with two feet studs showing even though it wasn't a harsh tackle in the end but not allowed. Ball was in midfield more or less and in no danger of them attacking. Costly mistake.

I was equally wrong about Taylor of course! Ryan Lowe isn't following the rule book we became used to under previous managers and so I think perhaps we should keep our thoughts to ourselves and let the results do the talking!

At least now when we get pressed back, it's a bit like compressing a spring: the more they push forward, the more space there is to break into and the more dangerous we are. That's the first rule that's been changed!
