Wise decisions by those managers to get out of the Mickey Mouse Cup. If Citeh decide they want to win it they have no realistic chance and would most likely at best get thumped in the final. Best avoid potential injuries.

Yes, it now looks to be a blessing that we went out of the EFL Cup so early.

Sheffield United doing well in the 1st half. Nothing against them but I need United to be rubbish in the 2nd half for my FPL and bets :emoticon-0141-whew:

0-1 to Liverpool is the final score. Good for us. The Blades only managed 28% possession and 2 shots on target. Think maybe they tried to park the bus and failed.

If Leicester beat Newcastle by 4 clear goals today they will drop below us in the table.

They are 1-0 up atm but no Madders who has an ankle injury <cheers>

What I hadn't noticed was when I checked the table before they kicked off, it was an "as it stands" table which gave them both a point as it was a nil nil draw, so ANY Leicester win would have taken them below us <doh>

And just to keep up my unimpeachable reputation for pedantry, since Newcastle were below us (on 5 points to our 6) after the last round of games, there was never any question of them "dropping below us" as per your original post. The only question was whether they could climb above us:1980_boogie_down: <laugh> <cheers> .

In fairness, Newcastle have had a fairly hard start to the season like ours. Their big win was against Spurs, but two draws are all they have to show for the other six games including a 1-3 thrashing at CR.
