Rumors all over twitter that Phil Down is going to be investigated for match fixing. It was originally said that Rosicky would be investigated but this has turned out to be a mistranslation in the media in France. If this is true it is massive! Probably bull**** but if Dowd is proven guilty then surely our match should be replayed. Everybody was finding excuses for the shocking officiating that took place yesterday because they love having a go at Arsenal but they will have to eat their words if this story is true!!!

Its only Twitter mate - that'll be one person, possibly a journo sending a story viral. Its a method newspapers use to make up stories. Plant the seed, then let others make the story 'real'. Then write about it and sell a few newspapers. <ok>

Can't find the original link. It was posted on 606 and was taken down by the mods. Basically the news has come out of France saying that Dowd has fixed the match citing the 2nd penalty and free kick leading to the 4th goal (both conceded by Rosicky) is evidence of the match being fixed. Apparently a lot of money went into Dowds account after the match. This is nothing concrete yet but then again there usually isn't smoke without fire. Lets see what happens.

It didn't start on Twitter mate, there was an article written in French on the internet and now twitter is going wild after the article has been published. A lot like the rumours coming out of Switzerland that Djourou is out for the season. Of course both are rumours just for now.

Still think this might be an opportunistic journo...

Lets wait and see - the French website says that Rosicky is under the spotlight because he gave away a couple of goals, but looks like its Dowd in the firing line - if true.

It was the lino who disallowed the Best goal <ok>

I doubt the investigation is true, but if it was it would be great for football, because it would be the start of the can of worms opeining on suspected match fixing over the years

Could Dowd not have over-ruled the linesman who disallowed the Best goal if he was match fixing? A load of rubbish if you ask me.

Guess he could have yes, but would have been very risky if he over ruled and it WAS offside. he couldnt possibly judge from where he was. Its much easier to award free kicks and penalties <ok> Dont get me wrong, i think the story of investigation is tosh, but i have NO doubts that corruption exists in football. Anywhere a lot of money is involved has corruption.

Why are people accusing me of whinging? If this story is true it is massive news for football. If it isn't then it isn't, we move on.
