Do we still pay the full price if they recall him due to lack of matches?

My main worry is they loan him to a rival and he scores a shed load of goals, getting them up at our expense <yikes>

Nketiah will simply have to bide his time because fortunately we’re not yet at the stage where the manager of Leeds United lets Arsenal dictate which players he should pick.

Bristol City have already remarked at his lack of game time compared to what they would give him.

Probably still have to pay the loan fee, he's on big wages which we won't pay if they recall.

Sorry but I don't get all this doom mongering about Nketiah.

Would have thought Arsenal are delighted with how his loan spell is going thus far. He's been in every match day squad and has featured from the bench in all but 2 league games as well as a full 90 mins in the Caraboa cup. Included in those were; 29 mins against Swansea, 20 mins at Barnsley and 45 mins against Charlton. I'd say he's been right in the thick of the action so far and don't think he or Arsenal will have any concerns whatsoever.

Don't forget he missed the first 2 matches due to when the loan was completed and had zero pre season training with us.

Pretty sure that Eddie will be enjoying the adrenalin rush that comes with being involved in a highly competitive environment and scoring goals that matter in a promotion campaign. Of course he will have belief in his own abilities and be pushing for more game time, that's to be expected from any young pro, what you don't do is agitate or rock the boat just because things don't fall in your lap. He will earn the right to play and be much the better for that experience, especially when the season really heats up after xmas.

The message he will be getting from his development coaches at Arsenal will be one of quiet encouragement and extolling patience. They are after all looking for him to develop into a top talent for the next decade, not some prima donna who throws his weight around and put himself before the side.

But would it make him a better player at brizzle. Arsenal sent him to us for a reason and its the better training. We are far superior to brizzle in every dept.

I think Arsenal sent him out for first team experience not training, which is why they have a recall clause if they don’t think he’s getting enough game time. Might not be down to him.

They want him playing is the only reason they might do it.

Not saying they should but might leave us light if they recall him.

Do you think Arsenal expected us to drop Bamford and make Eddie our no'1 striker ?

Oh and before the end of September as well.

Orta went down to Arsenal to chat to them and explain exactly why he should have joined us, I would imagine there were some strong promises made. I would have assumed Arsenal expected him to be a straight replacmene for Roofe rather than Bamford and as Roofe seemed to be number one choice...

Well it's lucky for us that you're not doing Orta's job is all I can say to that comment.

Has Nketiah said he’s not happy?

    No.

Have Arsenal said they’re not happy?

    No.

Are we top and averaging 2 points per game?

    Yes.

Can’t see where the problem is tbh.

Eddie came to us for a reason. What that reason is is pure speculation, but whatever it is, his club endorsed it, despite his manager not wanting him to go out on loan initially.

I personally speculate that Orta sold Bielsa to them, and all that comes with Bielsa - which includes Eddie earning his place in the team on merit, not expecting instant inclusion. I suspect that other teams perhaps over-promised, and Arsenal are not daft. How much would he learn getting long balls humped up to him for a season?

Name-dropping again, but I spoke to McKinstry's dad the other day & he was telling me about him being called over by Bielsa for the first time, at the end of a training session. They both walked over to the 'keeper coach for translating. He was told, briefly, something like "do not start a run slowly, then accelerate - run fast from the start, then you can slow down if you want to". That was it. Not earth shattering, but actually cleverly counter-intuitive. It was a valuable lesson to a kid, especially once he sat down to think about it & talk it through. It's little gems like this that Bielsa is famous for. Little tweaks to thinking & attitude, eventually adding up to significant developmental change. And it's beginning to show now with most of the squad. I'd heard a similar story before & thought it was a one-off, but apparently this happens on a very regular basis - and not just with the kids.

I have no doubt in my mind that Eddie will remain here & be an active part of our Championship win. Think back to Bamford's introduction last season if you need reassurance.

    Brilliant WJ.

That's exactly what Harrison does...short sharp bursts takes his defender with him and then he can drop back into the space to receive the pass.

The best coaching is always the simplest, nothing to do with most of these boys not being the brightest, just crystal clear direction and then add layers slowly rather than bamboozle and clutter the mind with too many thought processes. Eventually the good habits become the norm as the brain doesn't have to decide just do.
