... could become a big game with a new manager and a new start. Last season was a shameful display, from the home side, and demonstrates why we need out of this league. It would be poetic justice if Watmore scores a winning hat trick.
It was a 'ground tick off' for a lot of people. I'm not even sure it will sell out this time, unless SKP was there.
Heading down with my 7 year old son. Hopefully it's better than the last one we went to at Bolton. Looks like the ground is on an industrial estate, is there anywhere to get a pint near the ground?
There's a pub called the Hour Glass but that's the only one near enough really. It was crammed last season with loads outside so hard to get served. Also a few scuffles which was unpleasant rather than dangerous. I'd have a drink elsewhere if I were you.
Cheers .Think I'll give that one a miss. The bairn would probably want to get stuck in if there is any bother
They had a big marquee beer tent right outside our end last time. There is a pub further up the road but it's a bit of a trek. Whatever you do - don't park in the car park right next to the ground or even off the main entrance road to the industrial estate, there's only one way in and out - we were stuck there for ages.
Cheers, hopefully they put the marquee up again. I'm not driving down, making an early start on the coach
I have to give this one a miss. Enjoyed it before the game last year. I'm sure we ended up in Marlow around 10.30. Getting out after the match was a joke, the Coach didn't leave the bus park until after 6pm
The Tree Hotel at Cadmore End is decent (unlikely to be any Wycombe fans there) and only 5-10 mins from the ground by car. I've been there and can recommend it. Just off the M40, J5 one before High Wycombe and head for Lane End. Nice place for a drink and or meal/snack too if coming* down early. Or there is the Holiday Inn at J4 off the M40. I've been there too and can also recommend. The Tree is cosier and that is where I would go. Hope that helps * I say coming down because I was born, bred, educated and worked in High Wycombe but I am now retired in France, Hardly "coming down" from here
They are on form, without Ross this has got 1-1 at best written all over it. I await the new manager and subsequent bounce but I'm struggling to see any of those two occurring before Saturday...
Only time ive been to Wycombe, on a number of occasions, was in '70s when they played at Loakes Park. They had a slope on that pitch that ran from side to side and not end to end. It was worse than Yeovils infamous slope.( This was not watching SAFC of course) Their supporters at that time sounded like a group of farmers/country yokels. Remember drinking at a boozer called 'The Bull' in Town Centre No intention whatsoever of travelling down on Saturday, would have lapped it up if I still lived near there
I'm looking forward to it, hoping for a new manager bounce and a more positive performance. Will be in the end behind the goal. Going with a friend who is not a fellow fan, but has been to several of our games previously over the years with me (and I to his team). Recently he's been somewhat of a bad luck charm though, he came to Southend, Peterborough and the play-off final (although that wasn't with me but a bunch of his friends as one of them is an Oxford fan who loves C Maguire). Essentially, if we lose we can all blame him.
Yep I would very much like that... I wonder if the red card player will show... do players still keep little black books?
