True, but as the statement says - 'Domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this ... '
Oh give it a rest, FFS Premier League side Norwich City are set to offer Jack Butland a chance to revive his career in the top flight, according to Stoke-On-Trent Live. https://the72.co.uk/149423/premier-league-side-set-to-offer-stoke-city-star-a-lifeline/
Could go either way. I can't believe spuds have offered him enough of a war chest for him to take the job. But can he prove himself again? His star seriously waned after his last year at Chelski and a not glittering period at Manure. Bah!
Would like to think so Mourinho doesn't have a habit of bringing on kids. Can't help thinking this may well back fire on Spurs. Interestingly can't see Mourinho wanting to go to Spurs without some guarantee of significant funds to spend on players, if Spurs had given Pochettino some funds over the summer then may be there wouldn't be in there current position. Pochettino won't be out of work for long.
Exactly canario. I can't see why they couldn't have given the funds in the summer to see what Poch could of done. Methinks the sacking was in the pipeline for some time!!
I think Levy is driven more than anything by a hatred of Arsenal. It has begun to look as if Gunners' fans might be able to celebrate another St Totteringham's Day this season, which in itself would be enough to pull the plug on Pochettino, never mind failure to qualify for the Champions League. I wonder of Pochettino would consider taking over at the Emirates were Emery to be given his marching orders .............
Pink'un reporting that Dean Smith at Villa is up for a bit of Buendia in Jan. Is this just journalists jumping on his demotion to the bench this past weekend I wonder? Report suggests: Buendia is an alternative (yet more expensive option) to Benrahma at Brentford whom they failed to sign in the summer (Brentford wanted £20million). Doubt this would happen in Jan (selling arguably our most creative player to a potential relegation rival) when we don't need to. If we go down and they survive in May then maybe.
DF said earlier this year that he had the best managers job in the country (or words tot hat effect) and that comment caused a few chuckles and sarcasm. Well, maybe he does have a point. Once you manage a top flight outfit, your levels of expected achievement ratchet up and it is very hard to maintain. You look at Spurs last season and they over-achieved massively, yet where is the manager now? Getting the Arsenal gig is certainly not doing much for their manager and we have seen the Everton reaction to losing to Norwich, hardly complimentary to us but it means that the Toffees are not living up to expectations and somebody has to pay. DF has reasonable security with SW sharing a lot of the heat and they are backed by very supportive owners and a largely grateful fanbase. Knowing that he is also probably secure if we get relegated, this season is pretty much a free swing and now we are acclimatising to the league and getting our squad returning to fitness, DF is looking more secure than most in the division.
"Norwich signing this 28-year-old star would ease the goalscoring burden on Pukki" "Nuno da Costa is yet to find the net for Strasbourg in Ligue 1 this term" https://soccersouls.com/norwich-sig...r-would-ease-the-goalscoring-burden-on-pukki/
Quality suggestion If anything I think Pukki's looking for more work to do and anyway Srbeny seems quite keen to help out if he fancies a breather..
From yesterday's AGM: Next, were the funds available for January transfers, with Webber stressing he couldn't reveal the exact amount and that any players signed could not be financial risks, saying: "I love this question, when we've just lost £33m! (in this year's annual accounts) "There are funds available for January, I make no apologies for having to spend wisely, not sign for popularity so that people are happy on Twitter for an hour because we've signed a player that they've heard of." https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/how-norwich-city-2019-agm-unfolded-1-6400332 The Webber interview is worth listen
Every Webber interview is worth a listen, the longer he is with the club the more optimistic we can be. Bah!
I like how they all have their heads screwed on. The way that the prem money is dished out always makes the promotion years of teams look like a financial suicide into prem or bust, but once the money comes flowing in things should be set in order.
