Two excellent books I've read are Executioner. Pierrepoint and The Hangman's Tale by Syd Dernley. When Pierrepoint was ten he had to write a school essay about what do you want to be when you grow up, and he said Public Executioner.

The Pierrepoint film is excellent too. Timothy Spall is such a fine actor.

The Great Debate- highly unimpressive. Should have been Dominic Cummings Vs Seumas Milne.

Winning the election is simple for the Tories. Get in a few soundbites like Get Brexit done, Dither and delay, then start talking about Jeremy Corbyn. And don't mention the last 9 years.

Economically, the last 9 years have been very good.

Depends what stats you look at. Your party are keeping quiet about their record on austerity, distancing themselves from it even. A bit like 1992 when they threw out Mrs T and fought the election as a new government under The Grey Man. And look at what happened to the economy after that. The next 5 years will tell whether it's been worth it.

Labour plan to divide classrooms along racial lines, making white British children ashamed of their own country, and opening them to hostility and bigotry from their black and Asian class-mates.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50551765

The injustices inflicted on the world by the British Empire are to become part of the National Curriculum under a Corbyn Government.
Insititionalised shame, and state approved anti-white racism in the classroom.

None of those kids are responsible for what greedy business tycoons and privileged military madmen did between 400 and 100 years ago.
Most of today's white British school kids are descended from working class families, who were just as much victims of the historical injustices of the early Colonial period, the Industrial Revolution and the Victorian Empire as anybody else was.

But Corbyn and his Momentum friends want to teach native British children to be ashamed of this country. To groom them to hate themselves. To encourage the children of immigrants to hate them as well.
This is their sickest policy yet.
Not ontent with class war, Corbyn wants to start a race war between children.

If Jezza wants to empty the vaults of Windsor Castle, the British Museum and the Tower of London and give all the jewels and relics back to the countries we stole them from, then good luck to him. That crap is just stuff.
But for him to make it the law that our own children should hate their own country is disgusting and unforgivable.

Still, it's just the kind of thing I would expect from extremists who already hate this country, and want it destroyed.
This is just another step along that path.

And Corbyn's hypocrisy about anti-Semitism is beyond parody.
A Hamas (Holocaust deniers) supporter lecturing other people about not hating Jews. You could not make it up.

Brillo absolutely destroyed Nicola Sturgeon last night. The NHS Scotland questioning was a masterclass. It put her thru the ropes.

He’s got the Magic Grandpa at 7pm tonight.

Wasn't she rattled? I'll be watching from behind the settee tonight.

Sturgeon looked like a goldfish who could see the bowl emptying.

He totally destroyed her on frictionless trade after independence as well.

Her tactic of talking continually grew very thin. I don't think that they went for a drink afterwards. Like Paxman, who would go into any political interview thinking "Why is this lying bastard lying to me?"

Spare a thought for the candidates and activists from all parties who are pounding the streets in this election. Believe me, it is hard work in November/ December. Spring & summer elections can be quite pleasant, but you need real dedication to your respective causes to be doing this in the dark, wet and cold.

Absolutely. I’ve been doing it since 1987. Before that I had a paper round in Chislehurst. This campaign has been a rude awakening for the youngsters.
