Good Morning. It's Monday 25th November, and here are the latest Leeds Utd headlines Leeds return to the automatic zone Lady luck shone on the Whites (for once) as an injury time own goal helped catapult them back to the automatic Promotion places. It was no more than Leeds deserved having dominated three quarters of the possession, and recording 21 shots, half of which were on target; largely down to heroics from Hatters stop stopper James Shea. Leeds opened the scoring on the break. Former Leeds loanee Izzy Brown looked like he was taken out by Phillips, but the referee waved play on. The ball was fed to Bamford at the left hand side of the penalty area, and the number 9 fired it past Shea from an acute angle. Izzy Brown was instrumental in Luton's equaliser as he delivered an inch perfect cross to Collins at the far post, for the Republic of Ireland International to head across goal. Leeds continued to press and were rewarded in injury time when Harrison latched on to a through ball from the far right hand side, and sent a low cross in Bamfords direction who was waiting at the near side of the goal. The pressure from our leading scorer caused West Yorkshire born and bred Matt Pearson to glance the ball into his own net at the dismay of 10,000 Luton fans. Leeds completed the most passes in the Championship last weekend (540) and were second with the amount of tackles (23). The Whites also led the rest of the Championship with shots on target, possession and passing accuracy. please log in to view this image What could Leeds do with Izzy Browns creativity Who was impressed by Izzy Brown? Excluding setting up the equaliser, the 22yo, alongside Cormick dominated proceedings for the Hatters. Only poor finishing from Luton denied the Chelsea loanee from collecting two or three assists. Surely you mean a spectacular angled shot by star striker Patrick Bamford? Let’s all agree now that Phillips had a terrible game and the goal was all his fault. On Brown, he was injured so we never saw what he could do apart from looking good in the U23’s. Looked lively in a poor team on Sat. No idea about him but I’m happy with what we’ve got.
Morning all. For once we got a ****e referee who actually benefitted us Comparisons between this and last season after 17 games interesting. Were clearly in a better position. However, it was around this time last year we won six in a row I think, some were tight wins. We need to repeat that now to create a little breathing space. A win against reading would be four in a row
Morning all The Izzy debate is over and I am in a minority who saw some special talent and as we haven't replaced Siaz yet he would have been great. I saw most of his games for the U23s and he was in the main different class and finished up 2nd top scorer even though only played half the season. He created goals a plenty too. However WJ also saw plenty of U23 games live and saw someone not trying 100% of the time? i saw him chase back into his own area and tackle and get the ball then sprint through 3 or 4 tackles and went up the other end at pace and scored. Izzy is not with us and Bielsa commented on him last week, so I will leave it now. As far as the opening paragraph goes on the initial post Regarding Leeds having luck...... bollox. We are 4 points better off than last season and even ahead on goals scored.
Harrison was subbed around 60 minutes Ell..........................you been nicking Shaks beers. Bit of a scrappy win for me, it took an own goal for us to win it, and a bit of help from ref............who, by all counts wasn't that good. Luton were unlucky not to get a draw. Izzy Brown left Phillips for dead for a lot of the game. In 16 matches Izzy has no goals but 7 assists in all comps so far. I know some think the amount of shots at goal, and on target is a good stat (21 & 12) when you look at the ratio to goals scored, it's a negative stat, we should be scoring more goals per match, and we probably would if we had a decent striker. 33 shots for 1 goal is below par. Personally, I think we should stick with our white kit, changing the colours of our kits ain't bringing a lot of luck as such. When Revie changed our kit to white we began to excel. The way they keep changing the kit colours, we'll be playing in all black in next couple of seasons.
On the shooting stats its too easy to say we should score more but you have to take into account the way we play and what opposition teams need to do to slow us down and stop us scoring. We play against a packed area mostly and some shots we get off are blocked or deflected away from goal. Saturday saw yet another keeper have a blinder too.
Good Morning to Mattand co from a dull damp Bardsey Sheff U are doing an amazin g job in the PL and in Wider they have probably the best manager who buys wisely A good win for us and comparing the league table with last years shows we are on the right I wish we had kept Izzie but it was not to be now talk is about Brewster another very young rookie from Liverpool
The Izzy Brown love is elfin endless. His distribution in first half was shocking. One good cross in the second half and he's the best in the division. I sometimes wonder does everyone watch the same game as me, probably not
Brown’s a talented footballer... couldn’t get fit enough and possibly never would be the workhorse bielsa demands. He’s moved on, good luck to the lad. Decent cross for their goal... to be fair, he jogged last beradi once he saw who he was up against and ayling was ball watching in the middle but still missed it. it was never a foul on brown in the build up to our goal, theatrical dive. What happened then was a brilliant weighted pass from Harrison and a good finish from bamford. Who’d have thought it. I have heard that their disallowed goal was onside though... haven’t seen anything definitive. ... might have been questions asked of kiko had it stood... though could have been just a bit unlucky
Morning all. I like it when we play in white at home and yellow away, I think this third kit is all nonsense. Izzy Brown still wouldn’t get in our current squad, no disrespect to Luton but if that’s the best team he could join on loan for a season it speaks volumes on what coaches and managers elsewhere think on him. For the goal, Phillips stood strong and went shoulder to shoulder, Izzy threw himself to the ground far to easy and the ref saw through him. Like Eire said we went on a winning spree over the Christmas period so although we’re ahead of schedule it’s January we need to be concerned about.
We should just have all white home kit and a combination of Yellow blue and White for away games keep the tradition going **** all the other colours, i'm a racist
4 new kits this season is taking the piss with the limited edition centenary shirt on top of the other 3 kits Radz must be able to afford Messi
