Reading v Leeds Utd Tuesday 26th November 2019 20.00 |Madejski Stadium Following their victory at Kenilworth Road at the weekend, and returning to an automatic promotion slot, Leeds confidence should be sky high as they aim to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games. Their next opponents, Reading occupy 18th place in the Championship having clawed themselves free of the relegation zone following recent victories over Preston, Millwall and Luton before being edged out 1-0 against Brentford last weekend. Bielsa will be encouraged that Hernandez played all 90 minutes against the Hatters. Liam Cooper too, showed no repercussion of the groin injury he sustained at Blackburn earlier this month as the Leeds skipper returned to action for the final half an hour. Alioski was an unused substitute at the weekend, but is likely to play some part of proceedings on Tuesday evening. There is no update on Nketiah, but with Bamford on the scoresheet for the last couple of games, would Bielsa give him any game time anyway!!!
Could Patrick Bamfords luck be changing?. His contribution to the team has certainly deserved more goals. What price a hat trick against Reading?.
This is going to be a tougher game than some may think, yesterday was their first defeat in 6, to an improving Brentford, during the unbeaten period, they had 3 home wins, including a 1-0 win against Preston. Dallas looked tired at the end of the game and if I thought MB would rotate, then I'd have him on the bench, with Berardi moving to LB , if he was to rest Dallas, then I presume Douglas would be the replacement, personally, I'd rather have a tired Dallas.
Been offline, so not aware if anyone's mentioned this, but we're currently 4 points better off at this point than we were last season, and +1 in GD. Were 3 points behind Norwich then, only 2 behind WBA now. Although goals are fewer in number, no-one is bettering us on GD, & we're miles ahead in goals conceded. Cue doom mongers .....
I think KP is on 4 yellows at the moment which could explain a more cautious approach to his game in order to avoid a suspension until 19 games are over?
Davy, Villa are on a Ridsdale, O’Leary rollacoaster ride with the amount of money they have spent, if they fail and get relegated they are in big ****. Back to more important things and that is a valuable 3pts we have to get tonight. I personally thought we dodged a bullet against Luton and saw Bielsa loosing his patience on the side line, what I could not understand is that Berardi was picked before Cooper?? If Cooper is fit then play him ffs, we need to be clinical, ruthless and send a message out tonight, I think Bamford may of turned the corner, his goal was a clinical finish on Saturday.
This is typical Bamford, he goes on little runs of games where he scores a few and then on another drought. Not wishing to rain on his parade because I’m happy he scored but the keeper will be looking at himself for that first goal, beaten on the near post.
