Good Morning. Its Wednesday 27th November, and here is the latest news from Elland Road

    Leeds leave it late again

Leeds returned back to the top of the Championship with an impressive display at the Madejski Stadium last night.

The only goal in the game came three minutes from time, as Harrison dispatched a delightful diagonal ball from on the verge of his own penalty spot which Alioski latched onto. The North Macedonian International then delivered a perfectly weighted through ball for the overlapping Costa who deposited an absolute peach of a ball into the Royals penalty area.

Provider turned goal scorer as Jack 'Usain Bolt' Harrison sprinted from the Leeds penalty area to head the ball into the back of the net sending the away fans behind the goal euphoric.

It was no more than Leeds deserved. They had two thirds of possession, and twice the number of shots at goal (16) compared to Nark Bowens side.

If were were to be critical, Leeds only managed two shots on target, the same number as Reading, and as you would have heard from the commentary team last night, Leeds have only scored once this season from a corner. I have calculated that Leeds have had circa 130 corners so far this season. Surely they have to improve on their set pieces!

Leeds eyeing up replacements for Nketiah

Leeds are reported to be drawing up a list of prospective replacements for Nketiah after multiple sources are claiming Arsenal will recall the striker in the New Year.

The England U21 hitman has played just 242 minutes this season, scoring four goals in the process.

The loss of such a talent, especially if we lose him to one of our competitors will be a massive blow to Bielsa's promotion plans. I just can't help thinking that Leeds have not treated him well.

We're talking about a guy who has scored 8 times in 8 games for the England U21's, a feat only beaten by Alan Shearer, yet he hadn't started a single league game for Leeds.

The rumour doing the rounds is that Leeds are eyeing up Burnley Striker Matěj Vydra. The 27yo has netted once for the Clarets in 17 appearances since his move from Derby in the Summer of 2018.

Let's not forget Vydra was due to sign for Leeds instead of Burnley. He agreed personal terms, and even chose what squad number he wanted; only to do the dirty.

I don't get this "Nketiah to be recalled by Arsenal in January because of lack of game time" bollocks.

He'd been eased into Bielsaball and was fully up to speed and due to start when he inexplicably injured himself at home - Bielsa's fault?

What was Bielsa supposed to do for the last five or six games? Play an injured player just to keep Arsenal happy to the detriment of Leeds United? I don't for one minute believe Arsenal would want that.

If Nketiah is indeed a sick note maybe it's best if he does go back so we can invest the remainder of his loan fee in a striker who can actually contribute.

Clouds and silver linings and all that

    Morning all...

If Vydra has been requested by Bielsa I’m okay with that but with so little football in the last two seasons I can’t see him being “Bielsa” fit in time to make a difference.

We need a striker in January, Bamford does do a lot off the ball but his lack of goals is worrying.

Corners - They’re coming into danger areas, I was thinking back to previous seasons and what’s changed... Chris Wood, Bartley, Pontus, we had players who could head the ball.

In regards to January, the best bit of business we could do is secure White or at least ensure he can’t be recalled and sold

If they can recall him I hope we have a clause that we don’t have to pay the £2m loan fee. I’m sad this has been another Izzy Brown type scenario, we’re top of the league though so we have to judge Bielsa on this one

Morning all. Last nights game was dire until last 10 minutes but doesn't matter, results are all that counts. Cant help feeling were riding our luck a little but that's a good sign. Bamford has scored one goal from 13 games from open play so to lose Eddie half way through season would be a disaster. If Bamfords injured, who replaces him? Please don't pluck a name from the u23's that has never played at this level because that's nonsense. Does Kiko get result of appeal thing today or is it final day for putting his case forward? Definitely don't want to lose him either. He's been impressive this season

Wonder if I could start a rumour that it involved a hoover hose & his dick ..... <whistle><yikes>

I personally don't believe there's anyone suitable in the u23s at this time. Edmondson might surprise me, but I think it would be too big a step up for him at this stage of his development. Remember what what the fans did to Grot!

Bielsa has tried out Harrison there in the past, so that would be my guess if Roberts is still out. Failing that, it's Dallas :D Well, he's played in just about any other position this season! :D

Might work. Levein's problem was that he didn't have decent players to test it out properly! :D

Don’t bookmark this but we’ve got a few very winnable games coming up, next really tough one is Fulham on 21st December. By which time we should be a few points clear<whistle>

EDIT: Do I recall hearing that Costa can play up front? Pretty sure I read that when we signed him.

Hope we don't get to the stage of having to resort to that. Minimum of two quality strikers need for run in imo or well see same nonsense as last season. Hopefully Eddie can be convinced to stay and send his electrical appliances back to Arsenal instead

nobody yet ready as we are still messing around with strikers. Kun been missing from the last 2 games, Stevens back and doing well as is Edmondson but expecting him to go out on loan. Huggins and Gallagher stepping up but babies.

jack Clarke is an option and yes Costa could step up

Speaking of Jack Clarke, I was thinking to myself that with 15 minutes left Bielsa should take off Harrison and give Clarke a run. I thought that that Harrison had been ineffectual up to then. I'm glad I'm not the manager!
