Last season we let Saiz go without replacing him, that was our biggest downfall, we lost his creative talent.
if you had WBA in there at 3 or 4 I would believe it? As Fulham, Leeds and WBA will be the promoted teams this year. Where did you hide WBA
Evening all. My feeling was that we choked / bottled it last year rather than suffering burn out just as we did for the playoff spot the year before under monk, more or less the same group of players. Be nice to shake off the chasing pack. Without wanting to sound too pessimistic, Fulham are beginning to look like this year’s blades to us.
Sheffield Wednesday are filing a law suit against the EFL as a counter claim against their investigation and subsequent charge of fiddling FFFPRules. They are going to try and brazen it out and it seems every club sees the EFL as a joke as most it seems have fiddled the rules. Wonder if they are going to bottle and let the wendies off
Having read the club statement if their claims are correct then I hope they take the EFL to the cleaners. I also wonder what Harvey’s involvement was. The EFL are just not fit for purpose
I was probably not clear enough. I didn't think they eased off, as you say Bielsa wouldn't have let them do that and the stats show the same. What I was meaning was that the discipline, which in my opinion, had got a group of ordinary individuals to be part of a top of the league team broke down. Was that arrogance by a couple who thought they knew better, was it a couple of players being tapped up by agents, was it in fact mental tiredness and not making the right calls at the right time was it all of these things? I don't know. I would have hated Bielsa to be my Manager, I can't stand micro-management, but maybe that is exactly what you need as a football manager . You need the players to do exactly what you want them to do to form a team and win the match with the tactics you can see working against that particular opposition. If for whatever reason the tactics aren't followed then the team breaks down and we are back to 11 average individuals. I guess we will never know but I'm hoping that we don't do it again, whatever it was.
you make a very good point mate and just remembered that Harvey did one very fast. Almost like the EFL knew some shyte was coming their way because of Harvey. The investigated clubs were/are Birmingham who accepted a 9 point deduction last season. Derby, Villa, Wendies Fulham, Swansea and remember Wolves got away with it under Harvey which caused Radz to kick off
I’m not sure I buy the burn out stuff. I don’t think we were quite good enough, we relied on Sais (who was never fit) and Pablo (who fades due to age) for inspiration. I feel this season we have more players who can provide that, plus other players are better players than a year ago (Phillips, Dallas come to mind).
I’m not fat, I’m 200lbs of pure muscle and bone (and until I attend a meet up, I’m sticking to that story)
