Good Morning. It;s Friday 6th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Bielsa's Pre Match Press Conference

As predicted, Bielsa confirmed that with Kalvin Phillips suspended for one game, centre back Ben White will replace him at defensive midfield. It is believed that Berardi will be recalled to parner Cooper at centre back.

Here is the press conference in full, including injury updates on Forshaw, Shackleton and Roberts.

Leeds U18's progress in Cup after dazzling display

Leeds U18's progressed to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-1 victory over Hull City at Elland Road last night.

It wasn't all plain sailing as the Tigers took a surprise lead after just 38 seconds. Leeds however kept their composure and were level twenty seven minutes later with a moment of magic from left back Joshveer Shergill.

The Whites were ahead just before half time as Captain Charlie Cresswell's bullet header gave the Hull keeper no chance.

It was Cresswell that sealed the points, twenty minutes from time. A Hull free kick into the Leeds penalty area was cleared. Gibbon broke up field superbly, before playing Haugland in who was then taken out by a Hull defender, and the referee pointed to the spot.

Cresswell made no mistake from twelve yards.

Are Leeds heading for a slump after Christmas?

The data compiled below shows which months the club have taken the most points in the last decade.

    August (45%)
    September (43%)
    October (32%)
    November (58%)
    December (49%)
    January (36%)
    February (36%)
    March (39%)
    April (27%)
    May (38%)

    Does this surprise you?

Why are Leeds so poor in the second half of the season?

What can Bielsa do change things?

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Things that stood out from yesterdays press conference:
    1. Forshaw and Roberts are on the treatment table way too often and way more than Bamford who had an ACL. We have yet to see a fit Roberts for more than 3 games.
    2. Shackelton is a baby but he too is going through a lot of injuries but hes a growing boy the other 2 are grown and fragile.
    3. Bielsa looking forward to Arsenal
    4. Bielsa not sure Eddie stays.
Our Under 18s and 23s are now getting their act together and looking more like last seasons top sides. It seems to have taken a while to promote u18s into the 23s and then backfill the 18s with 16s, but it now looks awesome. Niklas Huagland was MOM for me and created 2 goals. Young McKinstry a winger played at No10 and ran the show.

Leeds have options to buy Harrison and Bielsa has said he wants him if we get promoted. Leeds will also buy Meslier from Lorient and Obviously Costa. White may be harder but much will depend on him loving it under Bielsa and promotion.

Morning all. Was about to write similar to Doc. Bielsa likes a small squad, therefore imperative were not carrying crocks. Forshaw, Roberts, Douglas seldom available for selection and as soon as they manage to force their way into the team, they're injured almost immediately again. Wouldn't mind seeing those three off the books in January but suspect they'd be impossible to shift given their extravagant contracts. Even replacing the three of them with a non injury prone striker would be a huge step forward. Two players spring to mind that were highly regarded in the game, Darren Anderson and Andy Carroll, both tremendous ability but in grand scheme of things, absolutely useless as hardly ever fit to play. Their clubs could afford the luxury of carrying them, we simply can't. Ive no idea of stats but Shacks seems to be awol a hell of a lot of time considering the amount of first team football he's played too but obviously has age on his side so will give him the benefit of the doubt for now

On the subject of injuries it's never been explained how Nketiah managed to injure himself at home the night before he was due to start - we can only imagine <whistle>

Maybe Phil Hay or Noel Whelan can actually do some work and try and enlighten us instead of stating the bleeding obvious all the time and telling us things that most of us know anyway <doh>

jeez I forgot that because hes been here ages as a first team player. Hes played for Wales more than Leeds and thats a big problem. We paid £3m for him and £4m for Forshaw which is the money we paid for Bamford in reality.

Yeh it’s hard to believe he’s so young. Proper talent, let’s hope he doesn’t end up a career sick note

Seem to pick up muscle injuries and strains, perhaps not quite physically ready for Bielsa’s intense training regime?
