meh, he probably only did it to get on the news, I used to work with a guy whose dad would contact The sun every few months with some BS campaign and get himself the silly story on page 3.
Bielsa is a very good manager, and to be honest, managing in the Championship is a bit beneath him imo, so I would not be surprised if he left Leeds. He basically took them from 13th to 3rd with hardly any signings, just some tactical changes, despite all the injuries they have had, their main striker, Roofe, has missed half the season through injury too. He had been able to stay fit they would have been auto promoted or probably even have won the division. If Poch leaves Spurs for instance, to go to Real or Juve, then Spurs could do a lot worse than Bielsa as replacement, ditto with us and Sarri.
giving this a bump, Leeds looking good again, top of the Championship, there is now a ten point gap between second and third in the Championship and West Brom have a game in hand too, so can extend it, looks like a two way battle to win that division between Dirty Leeds and West Brom, most likely going to have dirty Leeds back in the PL next season for the first time in 15 years!
I still say the Baggies will win that division. Leeds will definitely finish at least second, though.
Hope the Bielsa curse doesn't hit them again, his teams have a history of being terrible in the second half of a season
They did tail off, but like I said a few months back, he took that team from 13th to 3rd with hardly any signings, purely on management skill alone. Now he has had a chance to sign players, they are looking decent. They may lose some steam towards the end, but Leeds and West Brom are pulling away from the play off places now, if West Brom win their next game in hand, there will be 11 points between 2nd and 3rd. I dont see Leeds or Brom bombing that hard, and I dont see Fulham or Millwall going on HUGE win streaks to make that difference up.
Anything to base that on, considering they have scored 20%+ more goals than anyone else in their division.
They’re a monster of a team for this level. Full of ****ing 400m runners and absolute units. We couldn’t lay a glove on them.
They are a classic yoyo club, great in the Championship but never good enough in the PL. They stuck for quite a while last time but hung on to the older players for too long and it cost them in the end.
Leeds and West Brom should both go up this season. Can't see either falling out of the top 2. Fulham and Bristol et all have been far too inconsistent to catch up with them as well.
I get to tell my father in law that I've binned the Championship football channel so that I can watch NBA. Merry Christmas.
