I take your point Robbie but I'm sure you know that the phrase actually means on top form. Guess who I had as first City scorer, good lad Todd

1-0 does not tell the story of that half, should be 2, 3 or possibly more with the chances they had. Best performance of the season from Emi by a country mile. Byram doing what he does - reliable I would feel a little more relaxed if City would not give Wolves so much possession though, even if they don't look like scoring
We were so good that first half. Could've score one or two more. Bright on offense and fearless on defense.
Well, the performances are improving, but it's not quite enough. Really need to be more ruthless in front of goal (Wolves should have been dead & buried by half time) and much work needs doing at the back. A disappointing result to say the least, given the first half.
Yes it was a good performance, but it's getting too late for being satisfied with that as we need points now. We needed fresh legs long before we got them. Either Vrančic or Hernandez as Wolves packed their area. Buendia had his best game this season (9.1 on WhoScored). Patricio's saves kept them in it and then the quality of their attacking players, especially Traore told in the end.
I think the second goal was the result of two errors by DF. First was failure to prioritise keeping what we still had after conceding the equaliser. We played as if it were still the first half when we should have responded to the very different Wolves we were facing. Second was, as you say, not refreshing the midfield until far too late. Both errors played a part in the winning goal, with our last line of defence left badly exposed. Where was Emi in Max's moment of greatest need?
So frustrating. Some outstanding football in the first half. Some of the through balls to Pukki from the Mayor and Buendia were beautiful. Pukki definitely had his "movement" boots on but sadly not tied with his "finishing" laces today.
Can anyone ever recall a Teemu shot which isn't along the floor? I think keepers have sussed out that he won't try to lift the ball over them or high past them.
As much as I love Farke, I hate the whole 11 men back for corners. We had almost everyone back in the box for their 1st goal and no-one out to defend the cross. This happened 3 times in the 1st half, where they had a 2v1 situation from short corners and he still didnt put two men out to stop it. We also invite pressure from clearances as we have no-one to hold the ball when it's cleared. How can we spend 3 years being ****e at defending corners and persist with the same tactics?!?!?!?! Another thing with Farke is that he is fu*king useless when it comes to knowing when to make substitutions! Everyone could see that we were struggling after their goal had knocked the wind out of our sails, but he refused to chamge it and put fresh legs on. I wilk be forever grateful for all he has done for us, but I wish he would actually learn from our constant mistakes.
Not sure blaming Emi is fair. He was everywhere trying to make things happen for us yesterday. Imo he was MOTM by a long way! We had two deep lying midfielders (Trybull and Tettey) whose job it is to cover for our attacking midfielders when they move forward.
