Match Day Thread QPR vs Cardiff

Love the goal celebration between Eze & Chair....a good old fashioned hand shake....

 

So that BOS is a touch handy then. Loved his reaction to being taken off, clearly wanted to stay on and do more damage ... but the job was done no need to waste any more energy

 

But he has 'assisted' several of our opponents scoring this season...

 

That's exactly it, he is capable of brilliance but is very flat footed and his concentration for a keeper really isn't great.

 

Chair was excellent yesterday and in any normal circumstances would have been a shoe-in for MotM but this was anything but normal with Osayi-Samuel totally unplayable for most of the game. It was almost as if he had personally decided to drive a coach and horses through the ludicrously cautious patterns of play that we fall into all too often and listening to the manager's post match comments I'm still not sure he fully approves of the undisciplined, cavalier flair that won us the game. Manning also seems to have been reined-in in recent games but is much better as a risk taker IMO. This is a hugely exciting trio of young players and right now I'd be happy if we can get through January with them still at the club, ideally with renewed contracts along the way. (Sadly, I do expect Eze to be on his way soon.)

 

While we were all getting rat-arsed over the New Year Jack was buried in the stats pack, he really needs to get out more...

 

Thing is, we still passed the ball around an awful lot.
Difference was that we moved it with pace. This makes it harder for the opposition to plug all the gaps and in turn allows us to move the ball forward into attacking areas. These gaps don't appear when the ball is rolled around slowly from side to side.

 

For one day we became QPR-celona. What a joy to witness. The best game since OBZ day for me.

 

In Joe's defence, we were down to 10 when the guy shot from outside the area. Who was tracking the striker?
All in all, that was the best performance from a QPR side in a long time. On Quest when they interviewed the Hull manager I took his comment about Rangers win that he felt his team were extremely lucky to get a win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium

 

Well, the boys know what happens when they play like that.

Good report. A couple of lines I liked...

'Bamba, who turns at the speed of milk', and 'Eze Hugilled it over the bar'.

He also has Wells MOM, rightly I reckon.

 

A good read.

The one other thing worth highlighting is Wells' headed goal.

He is 1.7m tall (5' 7'' for the Brexiters!) yet he out jumped their defender (? Flint) in a graceful and highly athletic way. A joy to watch.

As an aside, Flint was with Bristol City couple of seasons back and gave us a torrid time so nice to see some payback!
