Is the honeymoon period over at Spurs already? https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/3adfd302-9c11-43b2-aaef-9d992be04ae2
Sports hacks are so lazy and incompetent they just buy into the narrative without even checking the facts. They're no more reliable than some pisshead ranting in a corner of the pub.
I suppose it should take into account the players that left too. We didn't lose any first team players, they lost Kompany. Still...
Kompany is spoken about like he is on their injured list.......he left the club, they failed to replace and they are struggling #endof
He's made 4 appearances this season. Maybe if he'd played for City against Wolves, Wolves, Norwich, and Man Utd and done his standard unpunished two footed tackle he could have made a difference.
It’s like blaming Laporte for their defensive frailties. He was responsible for Stones, Mendy and Walker and the couple of other flops. We went without VVD, but have 2 players come through our U23 and a £10m signing from Hull. People said the £75m for VVD was ridiculous but not much was said about Maguire at £85m. Klopp has done a phenomenal job on our defence. We could have filled our squad with deadwood in the summer but I can’t think of many who could displace our first 11 without disrupting our harmony. Pep couldn’t build a team the way Klopp has.
its like people refer to Man City having to use midfield players as FB's when in reality Pep decides not to play Mendy or Cancelo both of which he signed .
It's the collective responsibility of the squad that Klopp has perfected. When José loses it's the fault of "my players" When Pep loses it's the officials and VAR When we lose (if I can remember that far back) it's always "us" and "we". Tbf, Klopp isn't the only manager with that attitude, but it's distinctly lacking in the top, ego-driven group. He's built a team ethic that, coupled with their undoubted quality, is proving to be quite something. Even though there may be some better individuals out there, I wouldn't drop any of our current ones - apart from giving them a rest.
