"It's a long way to Tipperary, It's a long way to go" and it's even further to Carlisle. Well maybe not but it's a long way nonetheless. I can see why the club would send the team early for this one. I have to say I'm a little surprised by the league position of Carlisle and especially their home form this season. Thought they may be one of the teams to do well but shows you never know. This is an away game where we are apparently favourites with the bookies to win it. That is always a bad sign for me because whenever we are expected to do something we more than often don't and there is an opposite outcome. There is no doubting we CAN win this. We bounced back last weekend away from home to a side I thought were picking up nicely and we might struggle with. Confidence is everything so our's must be fairly high at least. I think we will get a win out of this and now we are in the playoff places expect us to remain there at least for the rest of the season. We have a new chant of "Jesus saves but Jephcott bangs in the loose ball". Get the ball to him in the box and Sniffer will sort it for us. COYG
Palmer, Edwards, Wootton, Canavan, Sawyer, George Cooper, Sarcevic, Bakinson, Mayor, Jephcott, Moore. Subs Michael Cooper, Riley, Conor Grant, Joel Grant, Hardie, Lolos, Randell.
Runs between the 2 CB's from 35yds out, takes the time to point to where he wants the ball. Keeper can't get to him and the CB's are 5 yds either side of him, piece of cake (once you've seen the gap and stayed onside).
Half Time and so far so good. Lets hope the same Argyle turn up for the second part. I don't care how much attention Jephcott attracts. There is a difference now with Argyle where they do not need to sell so there won't be any Argyle Prices anymore or as long as Hallett is here. If you want him then it is going to be hefty so bring a big cheque book and be prepared for a proper sell on clause.
One travelling fan says: that is as good a first half performance on an away ground as I've ever seen". Mayor seems to have taken offence at remarks made about him and is running riot......... Still only 0-1 though, once again many are saying 0-3 or even 0-4 would be more representative. Still, be thankful for what we have.
Guess what? He's gone and done it again. Bakinson gets the ball on the edge of the "D", CB steps out to block him but Jephcott doesn't move an inch. Bakinson threads the ball through and Jephcott is in splendid isolation again to slide it in effortlessly from 8 yards,
Attacks the left corner of the box with 2 defenders on him, slots it low into the right corner from 15 yards.
Another quote from a different fan "Bakinson with one of the best performances I've ever seen in a green shirt absolute madness".
