Whichever way you analyse the stats its not good reading for Bamford I'm afraid. LUFCSTATS posted the top scorers in the league and applied the number of shots on target they've taken. Bamford is top on number of shots, but drilling down and applying shots to goals the table reads: Bowen 3 shots per goal Mitrovic 3.1 Watkins 3.2 Chaplin 4.6 Ayew 4.8 Waghorn 5.3 Jutkiewicz 6 Bamford 6 yes I know a lot of different criteria and we're not doing apples with apples..
He wasn't in Bielsa's original squad, so didn't get included in Captain Jackboot's script when he wrote it back then. It would be too much trouble to change the script now. Don't think he even watches the matches some of the time that he's published it.
Just had another thought. Perhaps the thing that undermines Bamford's stats is that he gets himself into 'goalscoring situations' more often than the others. Do the stats also mention how many shots per game they get? Perhaps if they were better at getting into 'goalscoring situations', their stats might go awry too? Wonder what their assist stats are too, come to think of it.
Bamford is a great asset to the team...... if only he didn't miss so much he'd be a ****ing superstar and playing for someone else
You could also say Bowen is a midfielder and doesn't get half the number of shots as Bamford does, but when he does he has usually broken through and ran onto the ball and just have the keeper to beat. So not apples with apples suppose its still true that you can make stats look bad and very good And by the way it seems our first bid for Andre Gray was knocked back it also seems we have gone back again. So Orta knockers please take note 2 Prem strikers now gone after and Gray is on £70k per week
Let’s wait and see who we sign before wetting ourselves with excitement. On 1st February that’s all that will have mattered, not who we were after
If the clown plays at QPR I’ll begin to think he has a clause in his contract that stipulates he must play every league game. It’s so obvious Meslier is a far better keeper it’s beyond a joke now.
