There used to a steady stream of Welsh Dressers crossing the Severn Bridge on the roofs of Volvos, as the antique dealers plundered Wales for the Dressers for not much and bringing them back to London to sell at inflated prices.
Now you say that, it does sound familiar. They still do pretty well on ebay but they have to be painted and nothing like the 80's.... Maybe we should stick Eric Dier on the roof of a Volvo and drive him over the Severn Bridge at high speed.. Personally, I'd pay good money to see it.
Brilliant post. It's the same story with Foyth. Still makes the same mistakes he was making 2 years ago.
Close. Last night, when substituted, he was a cross Welsh dresser. Flounced off like Elizabeth Taylor in a filthy mood.
Perhaps 2-1 and a goalie screw up is an omine. I remember beating Arsenal 1-0 in the FA Cup with Pat Jennings screwing up for Arsenal and we went on to win the Cup...…!
Quote a bizarre reaction considering he must have known he'd been struggling to keep up for a good 20 minutes. Maybe just his pride was hurt....
His performance hurt my pride...but I kept it together (just). If he accepted that he's currently not cutting it, maybe...just maybe, he'd do something to rectify it? Repeatedly playing badly isn't doing anything for him or us. Skippy should have played last night.
Parrott was playing football in the first half of the season, as he started in the UEFA U23 matches (as did Eyoma) so he;s not quite comparable with Skipp or KWP this season, but this does keep coming back to how training with the first team is seen as better for a youngster's development than playing for the U23s, and that throws up all manner of questions - and we can make educated guesses about some of the answers
Ist question what constitutes 'training'? It will be different with each manager I presume as it must be the largest part of the footballers time. Anybody know what they do?
One thing that is safe to presume is that training with the first team under Poch did improve the players' strength and fitness, which could be seen in the physical transformation of some youngsters such as Winks and Foyth from the lanky players in their first seasons to bulking up with muscle after a year's worth of training
Frustration maybe. He's a bright enough lad and you would hope sufficiently self-aware. You would hope...
