Surprised nobody has mentioned Danso, isn't he meant to be a CB? Or is he injured? Would rather give him a run out than Yoshida or Vestergaard tbh.
I get the impression, reading Ralph’s comments, that Ings might be on the bench for this one. Maybe Adams and Long/Obafemi to start, unless he considers the cup game a lower priority, in which case play full strength tonight, then rest him on Saturday.
Repetitive strain injury........... to his tongue, following his booking last time out. Ref asked for his name - "bedders" gave it, but the novice ref failed to spell it correctly then he gave it again, and again, and again......
Cup is really important but I still think we are not free of a relegation battle. Big game tonight and must not lose 2 on the trot! Until we get to 40 points and all that
I've got a feeling he will rest Ings also. He's got to at some point as we can't risk an injury to him
Its going to be very intriguing and rather telling seeing the next two team sheets. I'd wager that Ralph would prefer to swap these two games around, and field a weakened team for the cup match. Will be interesting to find out.
Can't decide what I think about tonight. I certainty don't see a high-scoring match, but any of the three outcomes are possible. I wouldn't be against rotating Ings and Redmond, say in favour of Adams and Djenepo, with the weekend in mind. If we're clever enough not to foul Ayew too often - Palace only have two tricks: give the ball to Zaha and hope he produces magic, or hit the ball up to Ayew and hope he can hold it up and win a set piece - then I fancy us.
I seem to recall last Summer that he said he would name strong teams in the FA Cup as long as the league points total is decent at the time. And it is right now so hopefully he makes good on that promise.
Right, I’m on the bus, the beginning of my epic journey from North London (the civilised bit of the capital) to the windswept wilderness of Croydon (****hole). Selhurst Park is probably easier to reach from Southampton than it is from up here in gooner country, where I live. Make it worth my while Saints
I trust whatever decision he makes. But I do keep casting my mind back to Swansea. Remember that nice little new manager flourish they had? They picked up some good points and looked in a really strong position, then imploded. I'm not trying to compare our teams, but our runs have been similar. Now if we can nab a point or more tonight, & make the wolves game the blip, I'll come back and delete this comment & never mention it again! But my inner saint won't let me rest with 28 pts on the board. That's catchable still.
My house is freezing, can’t imagine how it will feel in the stadium tonight. would love to be going but am ordering a curry and listening to it!
