After seven years on a magical island it appears that we currently have a young couple looking to make their own way in the world away from the madding crowds. When you look at the facts surrounding this lovely place is there any wonder that they chose such a great place to fall below the radar: 1) Vancouver Island is approximately one quarter the size of England. 2) Population is around 750,00. 3) Literally crime free especially in our area. 4) No crowds and unlimited parking. 5) Spectacular ocean scenery. Should you wish to apply better make it soon because they may wish to bring the entire family as many immigrants do and therefore seating will be limited. All done tongue in cheek just to get your opinions of the defections but I figure that they are big enough and old enough to make their own decisions and that appears to be what it is all about. Your views from the other side of the pond should be interesting.
Just think of the valuable service you are giving to our nation Mike, you, the Canadian public will now be picking up the most of cost of the secuity of keeping this family secure, thankyou mate, some of us are glad to see the back of them and glad of the millions saved. What a fabulous sounding place but I have a strong love for Cornwall, the county not the Duke.
I don't think Meghan could cope with the royal family pecking order … especially on the female side … she is used to having her spot in the limelight "unhindered" and did actually move into the royal circle with her own "fortune" ….. Harry I fear has succumbed to her inability to appreciate she is not "top of the pile" and has probably "whined" him to death. Kate keeps her head down and gets on with life. You could see the severe and deep disappointment of HARRY when he gave his last speech, that he was being "stripped" of the things he really enjoyed and had built on for years and had hoped would not change … I guess a lot of females dream of marrying a prince, whether she did or it just happened who knows … now she can settle down and just be a housewife married to a prince
I’ve thought about moving to Canada before but it never happened. Any jobs going for an ITIL APM and Prince2 qualified IT Project Manager Mike? I need an adventure!
Weather much the same as the south west over there and I have taken pictures in the park and still enjoy my freedom. I have very little opinion on the couple, or indeed the entire royal family, but I am not so sure that coming to Canada will solve many of their problems because the media are all over it like a bad rash. I understand the Meghan has already had an interview at McDonalds but nobody appears to know how they were fast tracked through immigration for residency status so perhaps they pulled a few strings. Amazing what can happen when you come from the top level and hey presto with a wink and a nod you arrive in a new country and are allowed to stay. Islanders are relatively happy to see them but none want to foot any bills which apparently are needed for security but the poll was probably offset by the fact that we have the largest ex-pat population of over sixties anywhere in the world, most of them ardent royalists. There is speculation that they may purchase a property over on the mainland somewhere in the greater Vancouver area. I have no idea what those qualifications mean bcfred and generally you would need Canadian certification but having said that we are very open to qualified applicants coming over here to fill vacancies especially in engineering. I'll have a word with the newcomers.
