He is worth a gamble IMO, sometimes being at the right club helps and he was a legend here just as Micky Channon was and he had a good return IIRC.
He's on £110,000 a week. Does he love us so much that he wants to come back for a cut price deal? No, he doesn't. He left to make mega money, he's made mega money and now he wants more mega money.
Did you seriously expect him to turn down Manure? He gave us his best year on the pitch after the gentleman's agreement he had with the club for his big move as I recall.
He would have been special at somewhere like Arsenal, rather than shoe horned into that dreadful Utd team. So yes, I would. He could have commanded the same wages somewhere else. I'm not a hater, please don't consider me so. But look at his stats since he left. He went from integral to not bothered, that costs mental strength. That's hard to get back.
I'm not suprised he chose Utd, they are much bigger than Arsenal and i'll give him the benefit of the doubt on the greed issue.
I don't take it as personally as you do when players leave (apart from VVD and Lovren) and we were apparently in for Theo when Everton signed him I think.
I think the fact that most Everton fans would cheerfully pay us to take Morgan should indicate just how bad he has become. I'd leave him there suckling at the teats of the Warchest. PEH would move there for £££ I'm sure, we'd be unable to match the mad amount they'd wave under his nose. Everton is a very unhappy ship at present, they need a signing in the window (any signing) to quiet the fans.
The very lovely Mrs Godders has volunteered to drive up to Liverpool to fetch Morgan. Where she will take him once he is in her car is anyone's guess. Probably the nearest hotel. I know she keeps some of my Viagra pills in her handbag!
I keep mentioning this player, Jonathan David. No links to Saints that I know of, but buy low, sell high after a couple of seasons, only 20 years old. I have followed his career for a few years now. Afterall he is a Canuck https://www.transfermarkt.us/jonathan-david/profil/spieler/533738
VVD would be in the top 6, not ‘the other 14’ its all in the name It’s actually a great follow if your interested in stats.
Also if the stats were for poorly headed defensive clearances leading to big chances I think he would be up near the top for sure.
I've mentioned him before, as well (because, y'know, I'm the *other* Canadian Saints fan). David is gooood. Probably above our level now, as he's liable to find himself jumping straight to a big club, but I'd love us to try. He's currently halfway toward being Canada's all-time top goalscorer in international play. He turned 20 a little over a week ago. That doesn't reflect terribly well on our historical performance, but still.
Player we have been linked with.....but now West Ham have put a bid in. West Ham have made a bid worth up to £12m for Nottingham Forest's 22-year-old English right-back Matty Cash. (Sky Sports)
