Unlike the others, he's a properly decent footballer, who we might buy if Kane was fit.

The others have more than a whiff of Rasiak about them.

Yeah I like the look of him, tricky player who’d give Son and Lucas a good battle. Right now they’re our only two speedy wing forward options (unless we count Sess - although he’s not as fast as I initially thought), it’ll be good to have some depth.

Eindhovens Dagblad, De Telegraaf and Voetbal International all jumping on the story, Dutch press are 100x more accurate that English/ British.

I’d say this is a real goer, happy days.

Bergwijn fits the profile of a Spurs signing perfectly.

Hope it’s true and happens as he could make a big difference if he hits the ground running.

Tbh I'm a bit baffled by this move. I'm a fan of Bergwijn's although there is always the worry he'll be Depay mk. II and struggle to adjust to the PL. Pacy wide men is probably the only area of the team that doesn't need major surgery. Sess and Clarke were clearly brought in to be the long term cover for Son, Lucas and Lo Celso. Not forgetting that is also Lamela's strongest position. Where does this move leave them? Unless Maureen is serious about resetting the last 3 years of Ryan's career and converting him back to a LB? Was Clarke just a panic buy who will end up on endless loans to smaller clubs before being sold to the likes of Reading in 4 years?

All the talk is that the Eriksen money will be immediately reinvested into the team, but if this is 'it', I'm not happy. All links to Piatek, Ze luis and Willian have gone cold over the past week. NEW STRIKER is absolute priority #1. Yesterday's game provided yet more proof of this with Son and Lucas missing chances that Kane buries with his eyes closed.

Lamela should be sold in the summer. I’m a big fan of his but he’s far too unreliable with injuries. Sessegnon is a real work in progress and I think Jose views him more as a LWB than LW anyway. Gio isn’t a wide man, he can just play there if need be like Dele/ Eriksen could. I can’t see Clarke featuring for us for at least another season, whether he’ll prove a good long term investment remains to be seen but his spell at Leeds in the first half of this season has set him well back in his development.

Based on how inconsistent Son and Lucas have been this season, I think it’s forced Jose to act and I’m 100% behind it. Though it needs to be just one of at least 2-3 more signings this window.

That's the problem though. With 5 days left and knowing the speed at which we work, I doubt there's time for that. If as is rumoured we're bidding €30m, which is exactly the amount Milan want for Piatek, why not use it for the latter when the need is far more urgent?

Re Lamela I am constantly torn over his long term future. If a decent offer came in for him (circa £30m), I'd take it. But let's be honest he is very much at the back of a ridiculously long 'for sale' list that so far hasn't budged an inch this window. I would sooner see us make one more (crucial) signing - ST, and then focus every remaining minute of the window shifting as much of the logjam as possible. Leaving it all to do in a summer curtailed by the Euros will be market suicide, especially if we miss out on CL funds and are forced to retreat further into the sell to buy policy we've followed until now.

A striker is obviously a priority but if Jose wants Bergwijn and the deal can be done pronto then I think it makes sense. Especially as reports still claim we’re after a striker regardless of Bergwijn.

I think the trouble we’re having with a striker is that every club we’re approaching knows we’re desperate so they’re adding a “desperation tax” on top of the fee. Eventually we’ll have to give but Levy being Levy no doubt wants the best financially astute deal possible.

The queue is long but Lamela is on it regardless. I think the guy is a great player and his work ethic is second to none but you can’t rely on a player who’s only available for about 40-50% of the season and of that particular 40-50%, he’s only on top form for about 50% of that. We get about 10-15 great games a season from him yet we average about 45-50 per year.

If the reports are correct for the same money we’d could of signed Dani Olmo.

Apparently Ajax will receive 5% of the Eriksen fee due to a sell-on clause.

Whilst I doubt that is true, it did make me smile to think that after all that, they'll receive something like £800,000. Back in 2013 they probably put it in expecting a zero at the end of that sum.

...no wonder they removed the £25m release clause from Ziyech's contract
