    I don't like goodbyes Spurlock :( I voted remain.

I honestly wasn't thinking about being away tbh, it just turned from days into weeks.

Edit: Sat on Toilet is where I do my thinking, no phone allowed.

I saw there was a thread on the Toon board yesterday, appeared to be chatting about the fans going on the pitch at the end of the Shrews game. Now maybe it's just a bit of banter and I'm missing the joke within the first few posts that I saw.

I just don't get all the fuss, it was a once in a lifetime win, I just feel it's sad that even kids celebrating in that manner these days is frowned upon...or appeared to be.

    Completely agree.
The kicker is, football is more pussified than its ever been.
They talk gruelling schedules, but the players are so protected now as to what can and cannot be done on the pitch, its almost a non contact sport.
I'd rather play two games a week against todays modern fairy teams than one game a week against Don Revie's Leeds United team of the 70's, for instance.
And they get paid absolute fortunes now, and are treated like celebrities.

Completely agree. If playing footie is too much hard work, retrain and become a brickie, plumber or maybe a paramedic.

yes and no, football is on a different level than it was 20 years ago, the athleticism is almost incomparable, footballers these days would run those of the 90's into the ground. As to the Leeds of the 70's, they'd be needing oxygen by HT, that's if any of the dirty hacking bastards were still left on the pitch; fitness wise they were probably on par with Sunday League. It's a simple fact that the more you push a mechanism to it's extremes, the more likely it is to break-down, which is why there are far more injuries these days (mainly for strains) than there were back then, despite the massive improvement in sports medicine.

The amount of salt from the bitter united fans in the comments is hilarious.

This is the problem with clubs when they build stadiums beyond the capacity of their fan base. Our Chairman for my team in L1 has planning permission for a new stadium, and I constantly ask the question why?

We have a capacity of 11k....ok we filled it for the West Ham cup tie, but that is the first time in about two decades! The most I ever saw in our current ground before all seater was 17k, for an Everton Cup tie way back in the mid 80's.

Yet I think we have permission for an 18k ground, where the fook we going to get 18,000 fans from <laugh> We'll be lucky to 1/3rd fill it. The suggestion is if we have a better ground, people will come. Like fook off, I've been supporting this club for fooking decades, we wouldn't get 18,000 even if we were in the Championship.....but hey I know nothing, I'm but a mere dinosaur.

Pretty sure Sky reported it at 39k... definitely wasn't that!
