Lafferty for wyke would be my first change, wyke will be tired leading the line all night on that pitch
Just got back from having a Colonoscopy at tea time ( all clear) so that was my first good result of the Day so this evening's effort has made it a good day for me. it was never going to be pretty and we did what we had to do, I'd take us winning ugly every match, don't think my nerves would though so well done the lads, onwards to Pompey and still on a good run of results.
Lovely stuff. I'd say I'm sorry I missed it, but don't think I am judging by the thread Probably says it all scoring that one fairly scrappy set piece goal. Hope they go down, doesn't look fit for any division, wonder if the league have considered giving them some ****? Actually if you gave them some **** they'd probably use it to patch up the penalty spot.
Yeah it wasn’t a great watch. But I enjoyed it quite perversely. Maybe it was the “grinding it out” thing. Any win is a good win And we’re 5 points off top with a game in hand on everyone above us!!
Pompey was always going to be difficult. After that tiring win tonight I think it has become a little harder. However lets give PP a round of applause for building a bloody good team who are winning games. Thats all we wanted.
We'll find out over the next month... Portsmouth, Oxford, Ipswich, Fleetwood and Coventry to play by March 1st. Those games will determine if we're going to win it or if we're playoff bound again.
Two potentially season defining games coming up that we need to get through now.. 6 points would be a real boost towards promotion. I still feel we need a poacher though, there's a long time left to keep this momentum going, and a talisman to rally around would make all the difference - for both fans ans players.
After the pitch tonight the players will think they're in heaven and will enjoy just being able to run with and pass the ball without having to worry about whether the tide is coming in or going out.
