A bad result today but I can promise all the teams in the top 6/7 are gonna get beat before the end of season. All to play for as far as I’m concerned. Roll on the next game another big one that we could win. Positivity lads.

I thought we'd get beat today and don't think it does us a great deal of harm. Even if we'd been flying clear at the top Pompey away would still be considered difficult. Hopefully the injuries sustained won't be too bad. Onto the next one.

that's a bleak outlook, but, I agree with the sentiment! I'm personally not doom and gloom after this result. Generally speaking I'm normally fairly even keel erring on the pessimistic. My view is that we were never going to stay unbeaten for the rest of the season so I'm hoping this is a kick up the arse result and we're right up for the next match

Not great, but it was always going to be a very tough job - too isolated and up against a very physical player and a ref who let them play the man, not the ball throughout.

Good bit of ****housery from him to get their player booked, then took the piss out of his breath. A minor high in a game of lows.

We lost, not that surprised, we're in a decent position compared to 7 weeks ago.We lost against one of the better teams int his division.

No point in pulling our hair out

We had a bad result today.

Ipswich were battered at home ...

... 2 attempts on goal, 2 corners and booed off.

    It's a mad league ...

Seems to be a disturbing trend recently of players having 1 or 2 good games in a row followed by a stinker or 2.
Maguire, wyke and dobson all spring to mind here.
Also our high pressing featuring 'rampaging' centre backs appears to have been found out with no plan b as it were.
of course we are ( due to being the big fish in a small pool ) a prize scalp and we are going to be found out and beaten now and again.
PP stuck to his 11 showing loyalty but he needs to show no one is excused from scrutiny.
We have to be more clinical in front of goal or else promotion will not happen.
Let's hope the new recruits put a rocket up the existing order

It's called league 1 footballers Bri. Lets face it, they all have the skills but if they were consistent they wouldn't be in league 1

Yep, yesterday's away game was somewhat of a litmus test... the players other than the keeper who we needed to be right on form eg Hume, Gooch, Maguire were poor...at this level consistency in the turd division is not going to happen. Let's hope and pray we bounce back next week. Getting into the play-offs, or even automatic promotion is a crap shoot atm

I don't recall Gooch ever taking corners or mid range free kicks for safc, but I have seen him take them for the national team and he did a very good job.

I think we scored a few from Leadbitters crossing but since Maguire has been taking the corner kicks we have looked pretty poor again. Maybe a few played back into midfield might work, we scored a couple against Burnley? in the cup that way. Whatever it is clear that our set piece play need working on, at both ends.

I hope that is all of our bad play rolled into one match... it looked like it, we looked knackered, off the pace and disjointed.
