    Agreed.

Whether the payment is upfront, or staged it doesn't matter a didly squat, upfront is cash in bank (asset), installments from secure sources would be regarded also as assets to materialise, the only impact of staged payments is on cash-flow.

Say we've received c£22m to be paid over the next 2-3 years, with say up to £2m expenditure to fund Scott and loans, then £20m net. However I would hope the net figure is higher given we've supposedly got the clubs two highest earners off the books in whole or part for the next 6 months.

If the Allams want to sell soonest (which I seriously question) and that the selling price roughly equates to the today's debt, then the price should now be at c£30m. Still a high price given the value of the current squad and the fact we don't own the stadium. It still requires a high net worth to take a punt, and then invest further in an attempt to reach the money of The Prem.

The only upside is that we were the only club to make a profit in the last accounts published (still aided by the last parachute payment), all other Championship clubs made a trading loss, so we are sustainable off the field, unlike on it!

Agree .... except I expect the £22 million (if that's accurate) includes things like WHU staying in the PL? I too doubt they really want to sell ... although maybe that's why the return of Allam out chants could be important as it might tip the old man over the edge. They might be putting in place a sensible, sustainable model, but the simple fact is that they need to go. Too much water under the bridge, too much damage done, too many despise them from a football point of view (me included).

That, in 2008, was a very proud and emotional moment for me at Wembley, I never went the second time as I had mixed emotions with the Allam’s then at the helm, my mixed emotions have since proved to be spot on.

Never doubt your gut feeling, and I have a ****ing big gut!

We’re setting off to Perth tomorrow, I’m taking my set up with me so that I can watch all of the City games whilst I’m down under.
