Hopefully West Ham can spend two weeks dwelling on a 4-0 defeat, having slipped to 19th in the league.
Not a bad idea. Obviously not as interesting as your own team playing, but better than a boring weekend with nothing of note going on. And much better than having a Xmas break....with football at Christmas being so popular with the fans.
If anything it's better for them as they can show an entire gameweek - there's no Saturday 3pm ko's across the two weekends.
Agree. But it needs to be across Europe too, otherwise it’s shown that it makes it harder for PL clubs, particularly to sell players to Europe. It’s potentially help to us to clear the decks this summer.
Why does it make it harder to sell players? Any PL club could still sell upto the European deadline if they wanted.
With no ability to replace the player and to clubs that have leverage? It’s hardly been a winning position for clubs. It already was an issue this summer. Spurs had problems moving Erickson and other clubs expressed problems related to the misaligned deadlines. It needs to be unified across confederations for changes to be effective.
11 games ago, Palace was in 7th and Everton 18th. Everton's now 7th, and Palace is 14th. Things are...fluid.
Everton have been providing this script for. Years now. Awful in the first half, great in the second. Hope they get 4th.
Could Palace be the team that slides right into the relegation mire? Hopefully joined by West Ham in the Championship next season, and replaced by their more illustrious London rivals, Fulham and Brentford.
Pompey progressing will just help one of the big two field a load of kids and still win it. Might as well have Arsenal making it slightly harder. Slightly.
