Wow, that's ridiculously close to how I picture you ...

    Can we do it, ?
Can we finally get out of this league this time ?
That was a crucial game and after the poor first half it was a well fought win to come back in the 2nd half and could of won it 3-0
I'm still not getting carried away but i think Parkinson has showed enough now for me. If we do go up will people still think Donald is a chump ?
Ipswich fans calling for their managers head now but i think this league is a tough one.
That said i think you make your own luck too and Parky seems to be instilling a belief and desire from the players.
Hopefully the slow start under him doesn't go against us at the end but if we do just miss out it bodes well for next season.

It’s been said a game of 2 half’s. Thought we were poor first half seemed slow out of the blocks and allowed Ipswich to much time on the ball. 2nd half totally different pressed hard and got the crowd going and ran out deserved winners. Good to see the level of effort in the 2nd half showing how much the fitness of the players has improved over the last couple of months. Another big game on Tuesday and a chance to make inroads to the teams above us.

The main difference has been to stop conceding daft sloppy goals. We have had 5 clean sheets in the last 6 games. Get a clean sheet and you only need one goal to win.

Match of two halves.. Far better the second and deserved to win.. Ref and one of the linesman should be castrated after their performances..

You have to hand it to Parkinson tbf.

He stuck with a side that lost, brought on subs that worked, changed the system and beat a good side.

Ipswich relied mainly on massive kicks from their keeper then playing football in the final third.

Once we pushed onto their back four you could see panic setting in ....

.... and playing passes around their penalty area finished them off.

Not a great match but Wyke was only just offside for the disallowed goal, we hit the bar and post and their keeper made a save only someone 9 feet tall could manage <laugh>

We had them with Ross but too many draws. We look a lot more confident now but still need more and looks like we are getting better all the time.
Another few wins and i might start getting really excited :D

    15 more games to go.

15 more 1-0 wins would see us with 93 points. 1 shy of the 100 point "target" set by SD at the beginning of the season (6 points less for the 2 missing games against Bury)

    It's good to dream :emoticon-0103-cool:

Make sure you bloody well take them to every game home and away for the rest of the season Hank.

If you don't and we miss promotion it'll be your fault :emoticon-0110-tongu

In my opinion Ipswich looked decent in first 20 minutes and got into some good positions by generating space. But they didn't really turn good positions into good chances.

In second half we just went up 3 gears and breezed past them hitting work work twice and scoring 1.

I was gutted that Gooch didn't score when he hit the post, it would have been one of the best individual goals I'd ever seen by a Sunderland player.

More or less yeah, typical high energy performance from him but most of our threat was from the right.

Just because we go up doesnt exonerate donald for his mistakes.
Every man and his dog says on paper in all aspects we should romp this league.
As many know I was always less than impressed by ross and he should have been peddled after the humiliating capitulation in the play off, not to mention the awful football and draw overdose he foisted on us.
The maja and grigg 'thing' was either 1 massive mistake or 2 big mistakes. Either way
    It cost us promotion
It wasted the maja proceeds utterly
It further worsened our financial position given grigg cost more than we sold maja for.
Grigg has been a waste of wages ( given Salford would pay £5k of them ) I can only shudder how much and for how long. We can't shift him and has at least 2 more years.
At this level such mistakes are unforgivable, given he was the one who was going to stop the pi55take party.
He blabbs too much, cant back it up and when questioned or criticized cant take it and retreats to his panic room.

We've made bigger mistakes in the past bri and we aren't the only club to make them.

The man who doesn't make mistakes does fook all ;)

Every man and his dog says we should have romped this league? Only the deluded thought that. We were on a downward spiral and had to build a new squad from scratch.
