In his latest interview with The Daily Fail:

McCann, though, says the determination to prove doubters wrong remains a personal motivation.

“That’s what it feels like a bit at the minute,” said City’s head coach. “It feels like everyone’s on top of you, saying I told you so.

“It almost feels as though people are happy. That’s what it feels like from the inside looking out.

That last sentence is a very strange thing to say, any genuine City supporter wants the very best for the club both on and off the pitch. Personally I am gutted we are are where we are; seems like Terry is only just now beginning to understand the level of animosity towards the owners?

Terry, you keep us in this league this season, then for me you've done your job in line with what I anticipated, in spite of all the adverse owner comments and injury problems you've had to manage.

After Bartlett we would have been happy with this squad. The owners too if they kept their mouths shut

It's a little bit of a worrying sentence. I generally feel that we've been patient with our managers for a long time now. I genuinely can't remember the last time there was a massed chant for a manager's head, as even failures like Molby, Parkinson and Hateley were either not at the club for long enough or were given a bit of leeway as there was a recognition that the owners were the ones to blame for our malaise. It may well be that he last time a manager had a sizeable number of fans gunning for him - to the point where you looked on the bright side of defeats as it may quicken his demise - was Dolan. McCann must know that it's not just our form that has been unacceptable, but our performances too. No one is 'happy' with that. I think most City fans like McCann personally and genuinely hope he turns it round. We've had some fantastic away games under his tenure already, and I hope we'll have plenty more. If this is his response to a handful of people on Twitter saying he should be sacked, then this is a mildly worrying reaction. It suggests the pressure may be getting to him in a way that I'd hoped it wouldn't be.

Bartlett put Duffen in place to manage things, he (Duffen) took the credit and brickbats allowing Bartlett to sit in the background. The Allams (who admit they know nothing about football) should have done something similar and allowed a CEO to do his job. Papa Allam should have concentrated on acquiring a gong and shut the **** up about **** he admits he knows nothing about. That should have resulted in less animosity all round but we are where we are. I hope Terry succeeds but am not certain his "one size fits all" tactics will work in the Championship unless we buy a much better standard of player. I think we are too easy to suss out and far too easy to play against, but I hope he proves me wrong.

Why the **** would a City fan be happy about losing?

That's just immature and spitting your dummy out nonsense.

    It's the Allams fault.

Fingers in ears and going 'la la la'.

It is definitely the Allams fault.

How many of those posting on twitter haven't been to a City game since we dropped out of the PL or have never supported the club at all ?
I have yet to hear a 'McCann Out' chant at any City game, just the opposite in fact. Those who still pay to support the team don't make it uncomfortable for him, they support him.
The bloke took a gamble coming here by accepting a 12 month rolling contract, and he is still learning at this level. He hasn't done a lot wrong to be fair and we are not staring at relegation nor are we knocking on the door of the PL but who seriously thought we would be ?
The club is in a transition period and if he steadies the ship in mid table with no drama's he will have done his job and one that still might attract a buyer.

I'm not convinced that he's talking about our fans, he's repeated this line since the beginning of his tenure.

I must admit that while everybody would say they want the best for the club, I am often very depressed by the extent to which our fans focus on the negative, which I don't think is the way to get the best for the club. I was really struck by this after the Reading game last week. Arrived home thinking how well we'd done to get a draw with all those injuries , and how well some of the younger players had done. When I came on this site, the majority of the comments were negative.
And the poor crowds, whether because people are boycotting or just cant be bothered, cant encourage the players either.
It's a bit of a young managers reaction, and Nigel Adkins would have kept his counsel, but I kind of get why Grant McCann might feel this.

His continuous change of the team and baffling substitutions have nothing to do with the Allams.

He isnt a very good manager.

Adkins showed that you can achieve a lot with a bang average squad and Terry isnt doing it.

'Bang average squad' ? We had two of the constantly best forwards in the Championship and Frasier Campbell playing for us under Adkins. If anything I thought Adkins under performed with the players he had at his disposal.

I can't recall such a glut of injuries as McCann has to contend with right now.

Any City manager you can think of in this millennium would have struggled with so many of his better and more experienced larkers crocked.

Which begs the questions: are we signing crocks, is our training too hard,or is the transfer medical not rigorous enough?

I think when we sign a player who's never been injured before, and he gets cropped his first day of training, says it all!
