Must win or just another game?

For me it's just another game which we are capable of winning just as easily as capable of losing. Do I think we will win it...............I don't really know if I'm honest. Do I hope we win it...............course I do. Having been an Argyle follower for the vast majority of my life I have learned never to be too optimistic even if I want to be in case true to form they let me down. I'm giong to stick my neck out and say we will win this one and we will be back in the promotion places come 5pm on the day. Not even considering the form book at all bu the way which I'd rather not look at.

Will this game even be on given the weather forecast for Saturday afternoon and beyond? Have to say not looking forward to walking up the tree covered Barn Park lane in 60 MPH winds and chucking it down rain. Spectacle on offer won't be that great either if it blows as promised. I would not be surprised if they call it off for safety reasons.

Sounds as if it's going to be bad. The Man City v West Ham game was called off last Sunday, so if it can happen to them.............

If the weather is as bad as the forecast is saying then I really can't see the point in it being played. It is bound to be spoiled as a spectacle and this is supposed to be an entertainment industry or so we are told. I have a season ticket so the money is spent anyway but if I was just a casual observer I would think twice about spending £20+ on a lottery. I like my football regularly on a Saturday but there are limits as to what I want to endure and see.

The club website says the game is definitely on, mentioning the pitch is in good condition.

Those with tickets in the exposed areas in front of the Mayflower can change seats without incurring the usual admin fee but they will have to pay the extra if they move to a more expensive area. An adult ticket in the Lower Mayflower is £8 cheaper than elsewhere ( £17 v £ 25 for Gold rated game).

Only 2 games off in EFL at moment...seems odd indeed. This game will be down to pure luck in 70mph winds lol. Let's just hope!

Yet another game where Crewe could have equalised in the last minute! Hope our defender never just kicked it into touch to give them that corner also....
But a lucky hard fought game by all accounts but a most valuable 3pts.

Wow that was entertaining if a bit odd. Never mind the luck bit hp it was hard fought and not exactly without merit. The weather didn't play that much of a part in this or as much as you may think. Yes it was windy and yes it did make a difference at times but not throughout. They are a good side and you can see why they are where they are in the league. However, we are also a good side and we matched them for a lot of the game. They scored a goal that wasn't exactly against the run of play and was a very well taken one indeed. We equalised not long after and our goal was equally a well taken goal with a good build up. So level pegging there then. They then had a guilt edged chance to go back in front and fluffed it big time. An open goal. I mean a complete and utter open goal with no chance the keeper might recover and block it or a defender might get back for a line clearance. How could he miss?????? Well instead of side footing it into the bag he kicked it and it missed. Not wind assisted or anything else just a complete bollox of the chance. Oh how we laugh ed and especially when the Crewe contingent were up celebrating before the event.

This was a fifty fifty game which of course could have gone either way. The conditions were "challenging" to say the least but not as influential as you might have thought. This was a tremendous win for Argyle and says a lot about the character of the players if nothing else. Was it deserved.................well that's anyone's guess. It wasn't a fluke that's for sure. 11500 souls braved the elements today and were rewarded with a victory. COYG I salute you.

Considering the weather and the rain we had already had it didn't look too bad. In the old days that game would never have been on and the pitch would look like a ploughed field by now. It was obviously soft as you would expect and there were a few muddy places but nothing diabolical. We have a week to get it up to scratch again and as long as it doesn't continue with the deluge then am confident they will do it.

Just watched the highlights: looking a bit worn through the middle third and in the goal mouths but hopefully it will recover as you say.

How is it that when Jephcott gets into the danger area he becomes invisible to defenders? Time after time we see him there with no defender in camera shot, never mind touch tight. There has yo be some weird magic at work.

I know the Crewe manager was not a happy chappy on Saturday with the Ref but I have just read his rantings on pasoti on the Wednesday Daily News thread. The man has got to be in trouble for that outburst as there cannot be any way the FA can let it go after that.

I do find it amusing that some of the posters over there are calling Artell names for suggesting or rather stating point blank that the Ref lied to him. Like the rest of us who watch matches they have a go at virtually all of the officials after a match and call them all sorts. Here is a manager who has done exactly that in his honest opinion. It doesn't make him a tool it makes him angry like they are most of the time when decisions don't go our way. I actually agree with him. There have been numerous incidents where it seems obvious the Referee has lied. I have stated that before now. Remember the Referee who didn't see the Orient player push our ball boy when a picture of it was shown where he is looking directly at them both. Referees do it to cover their own backsides when they get things wrong or might have. I thought they should have had a penalty when their player got tripped in the box and it looked fairly clear from where I am and on the pictures of highlights. He says he thought it was a dive or slip. Sorry mate but both you and the lino should have been looking straight at that and you probably blew it as a decision. The dive accusation is a backside cover. Can't comment on our penalty decision because it was in a host of players and hidden from me. But, you have to wonder if it was given because of Artell's comment to him at halftime. I have often thought Refs lie. I have no doubt most managers think that Refs lie in most games. The crime is to express it because you are not allowed to give your honest opinion when in football. This could be a popcorn moment...................watch this space.

The Crewe fans are certainly not happy with us, some quite bitter posts on social media continuing during our game at Macclesfield.

I've watched the alleged penalty several times and in slow motion. It's hard to see what the contact is, if any. The ball is going away from where he wants it and there's a suspicion he hangs his leg out for the contact rather than playing on. This is marginally before the contact and doesn't look an entirely natural stance.

Regrettably, players seem to practice diving as much as playing

    upload_2020-2-21_15-12-6.png

Actually the ref is nowhere near the incident and ius looking through a gaggle of players.

    upload_2020-2-21_15-17-15.png

If anyone was to give it, it would have been the lino and I don't think it's so clear cut as to warrant these inflammatory comments
