On reflection Knives out is nothing more than mediocre. On a par with Branagh's fist at Murder on the Orient Express a couple of years ago. Benoit Blanc is a nothing more than a poor man's Robicheaux.

I liked Knives Out. Decent plot, good performances, and entertaining. Sometimes that's all you want. And it was a fine shift from the norm for Daniel Craig.

A better comparison for a mediocre/****e film would be Mortdecai, in terms of plot, entertainment and characters. Knives Out was much better in every regard.

Having said all that, I often like more than simply entertainment from a movie, an aspect of social commentary on the world or society, or raising awareness or just challenging widely held misconceptions and beliefs. All good imo.

In the words of Barry Norman... I got drunk with Burton and nearly punched De Niro.

I hope that makes things clearer <ok>

If you like Narcos this will entertain you.

Drops on Amazon prime March 6th. From the writer of Gomorrah. Looks good.

Just noticed today there's a remake of The Call of the Wild with a beardy Indiana Jones. I like Indy, but I just hope it's not Indy playing Indy in this film.

I remember the excellent 1970's film with right wing nutjob Charlton (I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hands) Heston playing the lead role, and a tough plot touching me deep inside... deeply. In fact it's worth looking this one up on Netflix.

Ford is one of the worst actors ever. A plank of wood has more acting abilities.

Plus he's an arrogant ****ing **** to boot.

Series 4 has just come on my Netflix in the last few days, is it worth watching it. I can't really remember the first 3 series. A bit slow, no?
