We keep getting told that we can’t compete with team x or y anymore... yet manage to look remotely half decent against Oxford and Rochdale (eventually).

so what in all honesty is our level right now?

I’d say mid table in the championship.

a cynic would say that’s why Bruce was brought in on the cheap as the club had one eye on the eventual relegation....

If we get relegated and kept Bruce we'd end up being a button half championship team

Players wise were a bottom half PL team.

Management wise we're league 1 mid table

Average it out to lower championship

Championship side with a couple of decent players. ASM, Schar, Dubs will help fund the relegation costs, the loanees will all go.

We are where we are. Lower half team who flirts with relegation. Eventually we will go down again. This season we probably will avoid it but next season we wont.

We ain't championship standard cos we're not in the championship, or in the relegation zone.

We're a poor Premier league team who can just about avoid relegation, nothing more nothing less.

Exactly. You would think we were 7 goals ahead of the bottom 3 on GD not 7 points. We have been lucky this season though.

Our current position is our level and has been our level for about 5 years now.

We have had one semi decent season in those years, and with the manager and players we signed I'd of expected us to do well in the Championship so I'd say that's standard.

We are a lower half side who go into each season with the aim of avoiding relegation. We will go down eventually, as that is our lot. One day we won't come back up.

As it stands, We are a club doing a balancing act. If we have a decent enough coach we can survive, if we pick a poor coach, even for just one season, we will go down. For example McClaren.

Bruce is a lower table manager, this is his bread and butter. If we had gambled and gone for say a Silva like Everton did we would be rock bottom of the table. No doubt in my mind.

Perennial relegation dodgers. That's exactly where we're planned to be.

Performance wise for the past 10-15 years Mid-Prem to Top Championship.
Support wise top end of Prem

With talk over the years of Celtic and Rangers wanting to enter the Prem, perhaps we could replace them in the SPL!!

It would appear since coming back up, our level has consistently been flirting with relegation all season, before eventually surviving. We will play **** negative football to achieve that goal. Bruce is doing a virtually identical job to Rafa, in a slightly different way. We have amassed more points in the first half of the season. However Rafa is a well known slow starter preferring a strong finish. Many ways to skin a cat but they look likely to finish up around the same sort of position/points. I certainly wouldn't see any massive variance in their final performance as it looks now. I know the usual suicidals have jumped all over Bruce because of recent form, but you'd think with a few results here and there we should survive.

The only reason I could see where we might deviate one way or the other from recent performance is if we hit the 40 point early. Bruce has indicated if we do he'd look to start working on a more open style. That could go either way. Could be a pressure release and they enjoy themselves, or more likely our squad make up will just be exposed again meaning the personnel we have, make it difficult to open up. If so we will take some pumpings.

To me we're a lower half PL side and that would have to be considered as accurate because we've done that for 3 seasons now. Right where a certain fat person likes us.

Not even championship now that bruce has been here long enough to infest us with his managerial ability.

Wrong. 14th in the PL is our level <ok>

I know the witchhunt of Brucey continues because certain folk are not happy he has exposed the myths about Rafa, but this is one where we can actually use facts. We are 14th in the PL so that is our level currently.

That's a bollock of an answer. It's like saying "what's the risk of Coronavirus to you?" and answering "absolutely zero, 'cos I don't have it".

We have the structure and manager of a top-10 Championship club, but the expenditure and facilities of - at best - a lower mid-table PL club. Balances out to terminal relegation fighters.

No I like real time info. If in May we are 17th, I will say that is our level. Its just about being correct and not making things up to suit your narrative.
