Newcastle next init? Don't think they've won a league match down here since the 70's. Point there and a win at Norwich = Job done.
I would guess he didn’t want to break up a winning side (other than enforced changes) and to reward Smallbone for his performance last week. I get the psychology of that, if not the tactics.
Don't think they've won a league match down here since the 70's. ------------------ Collective sigh from the whole board!
Should have done that from the start, in hindsight. We looked a better side with JWP and Bertrand further up the pitch. It was too late by then though, really.
Another match in which we'll have more than 50% possession. Another match where we won't be able to utilise our pressing game. Can't wait... Just fast forward to the Norwich and Arsenal games please.
No they didn't p- https://www.11v11.com/teams/newcastle-united/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Southampton/ I was wrong though as they did win here in 2004 - last league win here before that was 1972! It's like us and Arsenal.
Points that the 18th placed team has got over the last 7 seasons. We are on 34 at the moment with 10 to play....
